Just wanted to check and see if I should be worried yet or not. Hubby sent me two packages from the US almost two weeks ago Priority International and I have yet to receive them. Does it normally take this long for things to get here when sent priority mail from the US and if so what's the most secure (and quickest) way of trying to get things here?

More worried about the two he already sent since there were items in there we really needed (like medications). Didn't know if two weeks was to long for the items to get here since they were sent priority mail. He will be sending items down on a monthly basis for myself and my kids so I wouldn't dream of asking anyone to do so (even though I know everyone on here is wonderful!) A lot of the items are school related so they would be heavy and with that 50 lb limit I wouldn't want anyone to be put out, but thanks for the suggestion!

Yes, I figured the post on the island wasn't very quick but since my items can't be brought down by anyone I needed to find out what time frame I should expect before I contact the US post office to report my items as missing.

Christina, having shipped items to Bonaire before I think you might want to consider having your husband send them Fed-Ex which has been faster than the USPS. I am assuming that your husband has a tracking number so that you can find out where the packages are. Don't forget that you also need to allow time for the packages to go through Customs.

Yes, I think we will be using Fed-ex from now on. Where does Fed-ex deliver to on the island? Do they have the right to your house service or would I need to pick it up somewhere to pay for any taxes for the incoming items? Kid's are just worried about getting their school supplies (they are home schooled) on time. I will give it another week then never send items priority international again unless I am in no big hurry! You guys (and gals :-) ) are great and always have all the answers!

When sending a package, priority mail has no guarrentee's. The delay seems to be in Curacao in customs usually. Make sure all the paper work is filled out correctly(customs forms) and I find that addressing it : Jane Doe

Fed ex is outrageously expensive! I let friends use my e zone service from Miami. It cost $2.50 per pound with a minium of 3 pounds. If your package arrives in Miami on Tues., it gets on a plane to Curacao on Wed and with any luck it arrives on Bonaire on Friday. You only pay duty, %5 ob tax and shipping...no port fees or clearing costs...
