I am wondering if there is a systematic elimination of letters and postcards send to and from Bonaire?

That is very odd. Postcards to the States take about 14 days if you drop them off right at the post office instead of a resort desk. It might take a day or two longer from a resort. I've never had a problem with the mail disappearing just taking forever to get there.

I have no idea where it goes wrong with your mail. The last 10 years we have sent letters, postcards, box/package big and small from Bonaire to Holland and the other way round and never had a problem, every piece got to its destination (in time) so please do not boycot the post office .... Maybe a stupid question but just trying to find out what could have happend; you didn't forgot an airmail sticker on your cards...otherwise they probably go by ship and that takes a little while to Denmark...

I always send a postcard to ourselves back here in NJ just to test how long it takes to get here....usually gets here right after we arrive back here. Takes about 14 days, like Linda said. Good luck, Ron! Carole

The correct postage for cards is nafl 1.45 and letters weighing about 1/2 ounce, nafl 3. I have a mailbox in front of Chat n Browse and so far, everyone gets their mail so it is okay to buy and send them. FYI...the Bonaire post office is owned by Canada Post...go figure...

Is that a part of 'out-sourcing'????

Now I understand the problem, it's not getting lost in Bonaire through a lack of geographic knowledge. It's in Canada. He hehehehe

Well, folks, as a Canadian I have to say mentioning Canada Post brings a collective country-wide groan. The post cards have probably dropped off a conveyor belt in the main office in Mississauga, Ontario and will be delivered in 2010 when somebody finally notices them... :-)
