Okay looking for really quick feedback. I purchased the olympus 1030 for our upcoming trip in feb. Trying to get the olympus housing but very hard to find. We are snorkelers only but are in the water alot and everyday. How hard do I keep trying to find this? Also the housing is more than the camera. Do I need it? Please be honest if I am better off with it I will pay whatever I need to to have it by trip. Dont want my trip ruined by bad or no photos!!

Susan - I am not familiar with the Olympus camera you mentioned; however, unless it is waterproof, I suspect you will need the housing if you want to take underwater photos.

Thanks anyway to anyone who had info but I just ordered it anyway to be on the safe side now I feel like we can stay in the water as long as we want to.

Best choice Susan I have heard tell of those cameras having flooding problems if in the water to long.

According to Olympus this camera is waterproof down to 33'. Here is a webpage from Olympus.
