Hi all Bonaire talk posters!.I´ve been studying the papiamento bookguide for spanish speakers everyday(I´m learning a lot yupie!)and I have noticed many diferences between the papiamento written in the book and the current one written in the newspapers like for example "EXTRA" and one of those words is boneriano and bonairiano,I´ve seen both ways in the same newspaper so I wonder,is it the same word or both mean someting diferent or they obey to some papiamento rule.Thank you in advance for your help and sorry for my many plain posts.

Extra has many folks that write from different islands. If you look at the Aruba section, you will see many word beginning with c and the same word from a Bonaire story will start with a K. The language is written the way it sounds so some folks say it one way and spell it the way they hear it and others another way is just as correct. One of the most difficult tasks I have ever had was to translate an English text to Papiamentu and them have it proof read...six people did it four different ways..all of which were quite understandable. It is a living language and not that difficult to master as long as you keep an open mind as to spelling!!

O.K,so it varies from one island to another,so that´s the reason why. It´s not that I care about it,it´s just that I thought there was a grammar rule or something like that but that´s o.k!,it makes it more interesting.Thank you so much Sir,I appreciate it.
