morning annie, eileen and alex! have a good bbq annie! just been reading some info on the bluehead wrasse in my new fish behaviour book...seems that our bluebeard in waiting may be waiting a long time! they are hermaphrodites (sp) and the terminal male is our pretty bluebeard...and there are only a few of them in each clan...but lots of juvenile initial phase and initial phase that can be female or male...when a terminal phase (like our pretty bluebeard) leaves the area, one of the others will change to a terminal male over a period of time...oh, and they are the most common fish on the reef...very intersting...can't wait to read more!

now, here is our terminal phase small pony named grendel!

That "snake" is a sloowwww mover! I just got done booking a trip to Oahu to visit old friends and do some snorkeling at Hanauma (early a.m. for me) in August...getting excited about that...I should locate a book to study as well...only have one of those plastic fish i.d. cards and it's fading!

Hi James & Margarite! Yes, I noticed we don't live that far from each other. I saw on your profile that you live in McKinney! I've also chatted with Charles Poteet from Dallas.

We will be staying at Buddy Dive. This will be our 5th time to Bonaire. The first two times (1997 & 1998) we stayed at Capt. Don's and the next two times (2000 & 2001) we stayed at Buddy's. In 1999, we went to L. Cayman. After that, we thought Bonaire was more our style...so we just keep returning. We love it there!

Do you get to Bonaire often? Isn't this BT great? Jake & Linda Richter have done a terrific job with it! Now if I can just learn how to post pictures & attachments. I've not ventured into that area yet.

We first met Jake & Linda in '97 during the first week they moved to Bonaire. It used to be so difficult getting to Bonaire or obtaining information about the island. Thanks to Jake & Linda's hard work, persistence and much more, they've really made Bonaire "visible" to people around the world. It's amazing the changes we've seen!

Hey, I have an idea! Are there any other D/FW BT'ers out there? Maybe we could plan to get together sometime and have our own BT-D/FW dinner! Any takers on this idea?

Greta

Greta, I would love it!! So far , I only know about C. Poteet, you all and us. But that's enough for a BT dinner. I'm all for it. Hey , you lurkers! Come on out and Talk to us!

We went to Bonaire last in Dec.,2002. Before that we went for the first time inSept. 2002. As you can imagine I just didn't get enough the first time. We are planning our next trip for Sept. I want to go twice a year (with one other dive trip to some other destination) every year until the day that I retire or win the lottery so I can go more often than that!!

Hi everyone. The new bbq worked out just fine, and we had a lovely day. Cynde, terminal bluebeard sounds rather sad doesn't it. Annie B.

Searched the archives but could only find this little birdie who was brave enough to confront the street snake.

James/Margarite,

Well, we will just have to arrange a DFW BT dinner when we return from our trip...to make you all jealous. Then you can do the same in September!

Charles Poteet: Are you reading us?
