It's smokey here in Austin. When the Mexican farmers burn off the remains of there crops the smoke ends up here for a few weeks.

I'm planning a trip to Bonaire. The list has gotten to me.

Good Morning everyone! I got back from Bonaire late Saturday night. Spent yesterday unpacking and easing myself back into a normal pace of life. Rough flight back but the trip was wonderful. Thank you to Barbara Leary for catching the u/w shot of my boyfriend on the webcam Wednesday. He was the closeup diver around noon with the Nikonos camera and the strobe. It feels strange not spending 75% of the day in water now. My fingers are slowly depickling. :-)

Morning Karen. Where did you stay? How was the weather?

We stayed at Capt. Don's. Everyone there was awesome. The weather was usually overcast in the the morning but it would burn off by 9-10am. It's hot and humid (esp after coming from winter in New England) but so windy that the heat was tolerable. I'm glad that I had a 3mm full wet suit with me. In the water was fine but the wind out of the water would have made me cold esp on the boat.

Another diver

looks like those divers are having fun, a better monday that most of us!

i have to say i had a great weekend riding my horse. yesterday i lead 25 riders from our trail riding club on a wonderful and safe ride. we rode along the river and through the trees and meadows for about 2 hours, which was long enough for those folks who had not been on their horses since last fall. i served a picnic lunch, and we all had a great time. then in the afternoon a few of us went on a longer more difficult ride. was a wonderful day.
it would have been better if barry could have ridden with me, but he wont be back riding until probably july.

hi annie, i don't know, it is so far away. i wonder if it is a parrot, with its "slim side" facing the cam! how are you feeling?

She's still here, but she doesn't sit on the wall much anymore - she keeps spraining one of her rear legs jumping up and down, and then becomes jump disabled for a week or two. The plus side is that she is less likely to be confused for a speed bump in the road at night...

The vet says his dog has the "jumper stubbornness" too, and that short of chaining the dog down or worse, the only solution is to hope that sooner or later the dog realizes that jumping = self-inflicted pain and decides that it's not wise to cause itself pain. We hope Blikje is smart enough to come to grips with that :-)

thanks jake i figured that's what it was...as she is such a sweatheart, let's hope that she get's it like pavlovs dog....jump over gate=pain in leg...oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO GRENDEL!!

Wow, It has been a truly real wet day here in France. Nice for the farmers but not so good for load masters at the airport... There is a french dictum saying "beautiful plants need to be watered", so today I definitely must be the most beautiful plant of the airport !

Hey , Texas Terri....I did the same thing the first time I went to Bonaire. As soon as I got home, I searched the calender for the next time I could find 10 days that I could put together for another trip to the island. So we ended up going in September for 10 days and again in December for 10 days. LOL!! It just happens, can't really help it. So sad, can't go this Spring ( going to Cozumel) because we just can't be gone for that long. But Jimmy has promised we can go in September and maybe spend up to two weeks!!
