Morning gang,
I woke up very early this morning cause I got a phone call from Jean paul at 06.45 AM, and couldn't return sleeping. They now are visiting Kakadu national park in camping car. I wish they'll keep their distances from the great crocos...
I would like to congratulate Cathy who successfully posted the nice sunset pics. This yesterday one was gorgeous, pity I missed it.
This morning here is still sunny but quite a bit chilly compared to the beginning of the week and they say it will turn to rain. Annie and Dutchies, just be prepared to have a wet Easter.
I am having my morning coffee before going to work, I wonder is some of you are lurking to share a cup with me, but I think you're all still sleeping. So let's go for a new day of work, have a nice lazy week end. see you tonight.

Good morning Martine,

I'll have my cup of coffee strong with 2 lump of sugar.

We have no sun, just clouds, I hope weather turns back to sunshine this weekend...

Good morning Martine. I would be glad to join you for a quick cup of coffee. I am at work right now. Before work tonight I went to see the new James Cameron IMAX film "Ghosts of the Abyss". All underwater footage of the Titanic. There was some amazing footage of inside the ship. Still cold here in Boston. We are suppose to be going to an Underwater Easter egg hunt this morning. Too cold for me to dive (not dry suit certified yet) but my boyfriend will be participating. I will stick to above water photography today! Have a great morning.

Good morning, Martine! I will join you in a cup of coffee, but mine will have to be decaf as I have not yet been to sleep tonight. I still love the taste! Sounds like quite a camping trip. It is rather cold here in NJ tonight....way down into the 30's (F)! Way too cold for this time of year. Oh well, at least it is not raining right now. Might get to the low sixties for tomorrow.

Have a wonderful Saturday and a wonderful Easter holiday, too.

Hiya, Martin, Carol, Karen
I thought I would be alone. Gees, must go back to the kitchen to make some more coffee, don't have enough for us all.
Karen, we actually have an exposition at " La Villette Cité des Sciences" showing all the treasures they extracted from the Titanic when exploring. It lasts till august 31st, and we'll be going when JP is back. Must be fantastic and quite emotional.

Karen, are you always night working and isn't it too tiring ? I used to do 3 nights on 6 days work at Air France for years and it took me the whole week to recover. Fortunately, we don't have to do it anymore, I mean, I don't have to :o)
Well folks, it's time for me to get ready to go to work now. Karen, Carol, have a nice night/day of sleep, sweet dreams and catch you later.

Karen, how do you manage working nights?
But now it is time for me to put myself to bed. No coffee, thanks, but I did have a cup of hot chocolate. Yummmmm!

Good night, everyone.

Hi all. Martine Thanx for the coffee. I know Cecil will be there with us. He's on the list ( http://www.oldbonairetalk.com/cgi-local/bbs/show.cgi?27/79319
). I think we all have to meet and dive together. We will have a BBQ June 10-th and one or 2 BT dinners at Gibi's or Antreol catering.

Morning folks ...

You guys are quite early this morning ...
I won't make de June 10th BBQ date Martin, I'll be back and PBD'ing by then .. but I'm sure pics of the BT BBQ will be posted somewhere ...
(or even add a temp BBQ cam .. :-))

Good initiative Martin .. good to see there's quite a few BT'ers on Bon at the same time ..
I'll be gone May 6th already .. but I know, it will not be the last time to be on Bon ..

As for the schedule .. I've been trying to get/create some sort of web-based calender script, where people should be able to add theirselves as to when they will be at Bon.
There's quite a few around, but they're not really suiteable in my opinion. Anyway, it might be a nice add-on for BT ..
But being busy as hell lately, never really got to finish and test it properly .. I'll have a look at it as soon as I'm back ..

Other than that ... anyone a cookie ??

Your list seems getting bigger and bigger .. so it seems it'll be a good party ...
I ofcourse, and quite a few others with me I guess, expect some nice footage of smiling, tenderloin gnashing faces ..

You know where Marc lives .. or has his hang-out ?? Gotta shake hands with him this time ..
Bring him a doos met frikandellen of zo ..

Well .. it's hard to miss him I guess, for he looks quite the same (as me) .. tall & bald ..

Anyway, out for groceries now ..

Olaf, There will be a crowd... We'll post a schedule for june 9-th, so people know where to find us... :-)

Marc lives on Bonaire in a nice house. I saw some pictures and it looks great. I think you should send him an e-mail for his address and how to get there. Say hi to kitty and him from his former neighbors.

Marc looks just like me, bald and handsome :-)

Hi all, back from work,
Won't be me Cynde, I feel exhausted and I got up so early but so pleased after JP's phone call.
Tomorrow is another day at wotk and I saw I will handle this @\#&^! airlines as last sunday. Need a true good night of sleep and be fully relaxed. Perhaps someday I tell you who they are...
Good night, I have a Rendez Vous with Captain Nemo before falling asleep, I'll surely end the book tonight. Karen, I'll be there tomorrow morning. Nighty night and happy Easter.

Personally I would be pretty embarrassed to be seen with my gear dragging, it seems not to occur to a lot of people to secure it, of course, I get my face pretty close to stuff sometimes. I guess it's good training? Thanks to our instructor, Buddy Lebenon.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Cynde (Supreme BonaireTalker - Post #6207) on Sunday, April 20, 2003 - 10:52 am:     Edit PostPrint Post

seb, i wonder if the folks with the dangley bits are renting the equipment and the rentals don't have the proper clips for the computers, et. al., or if they just don't get good instruction on keeping your gear close to the body. diving in kelp, it would be a real hazard to have stuff hanging off all over...and having it hitting along the reef isn't good for the coral either.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By seb schulherr (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #546) on Sunday, April 20, 2003 - 9:28 pm:     Edit PostPrint Post

Mmm, I can buy that Cynde, except we are talking about less than ten bucks worth of clips of some sort, small enough to take home and back. I think it is bad training. Like the woman Mary asked at Oil Slick leap last year

"you know that slimy stuff on your gear when you come up?"
"Yeah! What the heck is that stuff?"
"Coral guts"

We all get excited and oblivious sometimes, I just hope the captures are a wake up call, but I see way too many nature programs where the divers are danglers.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Cynde (Supreme BonaireTalker - Post #6227) on Monday, April 21, 2003 - 9:57 am:     Edit PostPrint Post

seb, amazing that she didn't know what the slimy stuff was...geez...i agree, must be lack of training, or either folks just don't pay attention to that part. you're right about the nature shows, i hand't thought about that one...it would be good if the dive shops checked out divers gear to make sure they have the gear clipped properly, and if they don't they can protect the reef and make a few bucks by having them buy them.
