Morning Olaf,
I went to bed early yesterday, so I just discovered this morning you ( at last \image clin} ) posted your trip report. Didn't read yet, but will do it soon.
Still dark on the four cams.

I had it finished already, but it was still in MS-Word ... so had to edit it a bit to the BT board formatting. I've just been busy, and I'm born lazy :o)
As I said, I'll bring a notebook next month to keep a day to day report ..

It seems kinda quite here today ...
No signs of daylight yet ...

I decided to leave lunch for what it is .. somehow over 30 it's easier to gain weight, and it's getting a bit out of hand .. don't want to use 18pounds of led around the waist to drag me down ..
Foodwise it'll be a sober week .. :o(

Yes, could be a cormorant or anhinga. But the fact that it is staying so stationary is more heron-like behavior. Of course, having said that, now, he's gone.

Back to the bird ID - I spotted this type of heron on Bonaire in February, not sure which of the many herons it is, kind of greenish-gray in color (but definitely not the Great Blue). I never remember to look it up in my bird book once at home. I also saw a Snowy Egret on the shore last month - that one I know for sure!

Here is a mini list from Jerry:
Reddish Egret (Egretta rufescens), Tricolored Herons (Egretta tricolor), Green Heron (Butorides virescens), Great Egrets (Ardea alba), Snowy Egrets, (Egretta thula) and Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias).

I've seen the tricolored and a green standing on the beach before although I was not at the house this morning to see our visitor.

marriane (or joost)...my stepdaughter was clearing a pile of remodel debri for us a few years ago (to earn a little extra money) and stepped on a nail. nail went through her thongs (i know, not good shoes for that project) and right through her big toe. we had to take her to the emergency room with the board attached to her foot/toe because we couldnt' pull it out (too painfull) so there she sat for about 3 hours with this board nailed to her toe...

can you hear me now?

Joost, sorry about your daughter too. My oldest daughter broke her ankle getting of the school bus a few years ago. The nurse said it wasn't broken because it wasn't swollen or bruised. She couldn't put any weight on it and when it happened she heard a loud snap. Well, when I took her to the doctor and he said it was broken I cried for her being at school half a day before she would let me take her in. I wasn't happy with myself for a long long time for that. She is 21 now and I still feel bad when I think of it.

Carmen , just a question: what's up with you people ??? You break Arrows, you break Ankles!!!???
I don't get it ??;-))))

Being a little bit medical/first aid educated myself ( :-Px )I can tell you one thing : if you hear it snap and you cant put any weight on it , ... consider it broken till proven else.

No point in feeling sorry for, feeling guilty is a parents destiny.

a little consolation; the welcoming light on Jake's and linda's porch is still on.1

Hey, Barbara, I'm still awake! Just now getting home (5:45), and thinking of what Olaf was thinking 12 hours ago -- what's for dinner?
If the count's correct, this should be #98 on the thread. Unfortunately, there's only darkness on the cams.

I'm getting ready to have a little dinner. My wife, Lorinda, left yesterday morning on a business trip, so (sniff, sniff) I'm here all alone. Think I'll have some left over pork ribs from the EFG dinner. Care to join me?

Hi Dan, what about joining you around april 10th.
Jean Paul will travel to Australia to visit his son studying in Sydney university, and I must confess I am a bit worried : three weeks away, so far in such conditions ( and first time we separate heu ). Hard to find sleep...

Aaron West is the accused bike pincher but he really was just moving it out of the street. I have to laugh thinking of a guy Aaron's size riding that little bike. If you check on 26 March 13:08 you can see we returned to the scene.
