Good morning everyone. It is a beautiful sunny day here today. I am waiting to see if I can go take Emma home. The good news is that the tumour has considerably reduced in size since last week. Doc says it is responding to the treatment very nicely. Annie B.

Lovely colours and morning foam.

Good morning all.

Cynde--I droppped a note to Martine yesterday, but, if you want to add a bit to your spreadsheet, Spot is a spot-winged comb jelly, Ocyropsis maculata. Quoting from Paul Human, "These float near surface in open water, found deeper when water is rough. May appear in larger aggregations after several days of calm. Actively swim with flapping motion of oral lobes, usually with two or three pulsations followed by a brief rest period. Bioluminescent; when disturbed at night produce a greenish blue light." And, "Four conspicuous brown spots on large, prominent oral lobes, body compressed. Body and lobes whitish and translucent."

We are nearly at the end of the tunnel...just missing now : Banded butterfly, 4 eyes butterfly,
anchovies (balls), squids, and size and feeding for the jellyfish and it will be OVER.
I can actually work on butterflyes, if you haven't done yet. Catcha later, I am having a luttle pause now.

I see its a beautiful morning in Bonaire.
show The skies are almost as blue as they are in Juneau. Absolutely not a cloud in the sky here, as you can see here. (The lens is a little dirty.)image

Have a nice day!

Annie, that's great news about Emma--and you, also.

Martine and everyone who has done such a great job on the reef dwellers portfolio -- thank you. It is great.

Martine, I'm avoiding work for a few minutes so I dug up the Caribbean Reef Squid info for you:
Size: Body 6-12 inches, arms shorter than body
Depth: Surface to 70 ft.
Latin name: Sepioteuthis sepioidea
Family: (Inshore squid) Loliginidae
Color: varies from shades of bluish gray to brown, green, and lavender; often display white spots, may be iridescent
Food: inhabit inshore waters including shallow estuaries and bays where they feed on zooplankton, small crustaceans, and fish.
(Courtesy of Paul Humann & Ned DeLoach's Reef Creature ID, 2nd ed.)

Can't find what jellyfish eat.

You and Cynde are doing a great job, and in such a short time! I'm in awe.
