Don't worry, I have all the other latin names except those you mentionned.
I'll tell you in a couple of hours if Jean Paul can fix my putter, if not, I'll give you his email to send me the files.

Martine and Cynde you have both worked so hard on this. Thanks for your efforts.

Was not here for the sunsets. My best friend Chris phoned me to say that a gunman held up the supermarket where she works. Nobody was seriously hurt thank goodness, but he put the fear of god in them all, just for a measley £300, and he got away. Annie B.

Cynde, Is it correct that if there is a shortage of male fish, a female will change sex. I know this happens with the tropicals, so assume it is the same for marine fish etc. Annie B.

Annette, that is true for wrasses and damsels, but not for most other marine fish.

I found a site a while back that had most fishes, their latin names, and behaviors, but I didn't bookmark it. It was more complete than the standard fish id books. I will try to find it again later today and will post the web address.

OK, I found two sites for starters. I did a Yahoo search for "Fish identification"

http://indian-river.fl.us/fishing/fish/

http://www.enature.com/guides/select_Fishes.asp

I couldn't get to some others because the firewall denies anything it thinks is 'sports'.

The first is a Florida guide, but has most of the same fish as Bonaire. The second is a world-wide guide, so you will see fish that don't appear anywhere near Boanire.

bob. I don't remember being at school. LOL.

Linnea. Thanks. I used to keep tropicals, but then changed to Cichlids, their behaviour was much more interesting. I remember that if there were all females, one would change to a male in order to preserve their species. Annie B.

thanks linnea, i will check it out. I found a really good site www.fishbase.org. It was the only place i found any reproduction information. Most of the others have some of the behaviour stuff, but not the repro stuff. Don't the sheephead and parrots change depending on the need for studly fish to be "studs?"

I already browsed the website Linnea mentionned, as mant other, and I can manage with this. I leave all this stuff for tomorrow, just browsing on the archives trying to find some additional pictures. Won't last too long tonight. Nearly 2AM, time to refesh my beauty as Annie uses to say. Nite nite all, see you tomorrow.
Cynde, don't you think our job deserves a reefcam cleaning dive FROM Jake and Linda's beach next time we are both on Bonaire coeur. Could be in June for us... Nice to dream while awake. Good night gang.
