Good Morning, Martine! Beat you!
Actually, I came back to the beach party about 9:00 p.m., BT time, and found everybody had left. So, I settled down, enjoyed the stars sparkling in the sky and a little Cognac, and watched the embers die. It was an idealic evening--warm, light cool breeze, absolutely beautiful. Too bad nobody stuck around to enjoy it with me, but I enjoyed the solitude.
But now its a bit late [10:20 p.m. (Jnu); 3:20 a.m.(Bon)] and time for even me to creep off the beach and put myself to bed.
Good night. I trust everyone slept well during the night.

We are getting ready for all the grossness coming. Funny thing is our whole state is on a storm warning except for 2 counties and one of them is ours, we just have a winter advisory. I have my fingers crossed that they are right.
You must be getting ready, all packed? I am pretty much there.
Batten down the hatches and stay safe.

You're right, Annie. An o-ring (small thoough it is) is a rather important piece. There are several, but the main one that looks like it blew here is the one that attaches the regulator to the tank. Gotta keep that one in good condition or you see what happens.

Looks like we are sailing today.

On enlarging the pic, however, Annie, it could be that he is allowing the air to "free-flow." It sort of looks as if he might be holding the secondary regulator (the one you stick in your mouth and breathe out of) out to the side. If you turn it so that the opening is pointed up or press the purge button, you can create a lot of air in a short time. He may have done that just to give us all a thrill.

Hi Cynde, Jill and others,
Thanks for your comments. here are some explanations Cynde asked. The fish with the uge teeth is a Giant triggerfish. This fish about 75 cms and 50 kg is a Red sea/Indian/Pacific ocean dweller. He may be VERY dangerous and systematically attacks anyone entering his territory when nesting. We suffered one of this attack when in Sharm el Sheikh, last september, and I do fear them now. You know he is about to charge you when he is erecting his head spine. Then, fly away as soon as possible, but swimm always facing him and giving him your fins to bite. Keep your second regulator in hand, so you can protect yourself behind a bubbles curtain ( recipe from our dive master in Sharm, and very efficent ). Don't worry, there is no in Atlantic ocean. The spiny starfish is an Acanthaster and a great ecological menace. This seastar may grow till 50 cm and lives in Red sea/Indian/pacific ocean. They feed on coral and is a serious coral killer, from Australia to Africa. They are spreding so fast they regularly are hunted and destroyed. It's dreadfully sad and deserted after Acanthaster ate corals. I don't know if they reached atlantic ocean. The video is a "pencil sea urchin" a very special urchin whose needles truly look like pencils.
The only great "missing" during this stay was the whale shark. Some divers had the opportunity to dive with one the day before we arrived on the place hmph.
No beach party today ?

The storm has arrived! We've had about 2 hours of ice rain and now it's snowing hard. I have to laugh, because the weather channel is warning us about the storm, due to arrive at 7pm. It's only 3:30pm but I do believe if they looked out of the window they would see that it's here already! But, a scary thought, perhaps they consider this to be nothing and that the REAL snow comes around 7pm! HELP!!
Martine, that giant triggerfish sounds like a fearful beast indeed! They can keep him in the other oceans thank you!
WOW! congratulations on your 300th dive. Have another glass of champagne from me!! ;-))

Emergency check out : shovels, melting salt, hot water, for outside. Good books and movies, warm slippers, plenty of food in the fridge, champagne, wines, beers, brandy for inside. Just look at the summer clothes wrapped in your suitcase from times to time just to keep high spirit, and safely wait till march 5th.
Please, keep us informed about the weather evolution, OK Jill ? But I think highway maintenance is fully equiped in Ontario. Right ?
Enjoy your evening. Nearly time for us to go to bed. I'll try to wait for the sunset.
