Grendel is up early (or is it late - I can never tell). Wonder what's happening...

Cold and snowy tonight here in Iowa. We're supposed to have 8" of snow on top of 1/4" of ice. What a pleasant start to the weekend.

Michael

Good morning everyone!
Pat- in order to see the face, do you have to look at the pictures upside down? I can see a face that way! Then again, I have never been any good at those optical illusion pictures!

Looking a second time, I can see a mad catfish swimming towards me in the clouds. Overactive imagination, perhaps?

Morning Everyone!
How's Emma doing Annie? Hope things are going well......don't forget to look after yourself too :-). Michael, your messy weather is coming our way (SE Virginia).....we are scheduled for a "sleet storm". I'm getting ready to go out for groceries.....everything grinds to a halt here when we get 1/2 an inch of anything.

Good morning, everybody. Its 9:06 am in Juneau, and it looks like its going to be a beautiful day. Can't show you that here, because, of course, this is a Bonaire Webcam BB. However, if you'll head over to the Community Chat board, I'm posting a pic of Juneau in the early morning. Nor a current one, but its looking exactly like that today. Currently, its 31F/-1C here.
Looks like not a whole lot of activity in Bonaire.

Guess, you're going to have to wait a bit longer. Tried uploading the pic, and it says its too big--81.8mb instead of the max 50mb. Need to figure out how to change that and I'm too new to this stuff. Oh well, as I said, later.

...missed the first pic with these fine visitors.

Lovely day today... about 12" of snow overnight. I have to admit it's absolutely beautiful, but it really makes looking at the cams difficult.

Of course, it doesn't help that my sister and her husband are headed to Hawaii in 5 days. :-)

I have been reading some posts concerning checking of luggage at Bonaire. We have been told by almost everyone to put locks on your luggage. If we do, are they saying these locks
will be cut off? I am not sure I understood
all that was being said about this. Can anyone
help with this?
Tks John & Nancy

Nice sunsets, Cyndi!
N and J, I never lock my luggage. and I take hundreds os dollars worth of dive gear. I don't take my diamonds and such (who needs them) . The security people need access to your luggage. Why lock it,anyway?

Good Evening, all!! :-)

Nice captures through the day!! :-)

James & Margarite, and Nancy & John -

This question came up in our group as well. I contacted our charter carrier, Skyservice, and asked about checked baggage. The Skyservice representative told me that all checked baggage SHOULD be locked, or secured in some fashion. This is to ensure no one can either insert or remove anything from your bags.

Most of our crew - 8 of us - use tie wraps to secure our checked bags, and we carry spares, plus a very small, no intrusive pair of nail clippers in carry on - just in case we need to open the checked baggage for any reason - and then be able to re-secure it.

Best suggestion - Check with your air carrier to be sure what their policy is.

Bill

bill, good advise. margarite, we always USED to lock our luggage (we have seen our luggage on the tarmack as we have taken off a few times and have had several friends had their luggage rifled through when traveling now) i hear that zip ties are the best thing next to locks.

An alternative for securing baggage w/o locks are split rings, of steel or brass such as used on scuba gear. They are easily removed for inspections, are reusable and take long enough to undo to discourage casual theft, even more so than tie wraps.
