Good morning Joost & everybody else.
I don't think those are diving-boats. These boats are there alomst every day, probably local fishermen.

I don't know the exact rules, but it is allowed 4 local fishermen 4 local comsumption I think. Jake probably knows the exact rules and I think u can find the rules on the site of the Marine Parc.
Looks like 1 of them is already of 2 sell his fish.

For two years I have been coming to this site, reading what everyone writes and enjoying the pictures, and now I finally get to post! I am getting ready for my second trip to Bonaire in a month and I can NOT wait!! The pictures help, but also make it worse since they remind me of what I am missing as I watch the snow pour out of the sky here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan!

Half of us will be there for two weeks, the other half (including me) will only be there for one week. We made sure to hit the street cam and reef cam last year also. We stay with Al at the Black Durgon, so we're really close!

Trust me, the weeks of February 22-March 8, you will see a big group of about 16 people at the cameras showing off. We are hard to miss! We will probably make more than one trip to the cameras! We'll probably be holding signs (not just Jakes either!) and showing off, we're good at that!

How are you feeling today, Eileen? Better, I hope! :-)

Hi there Angela. This is only my second day of posting but I want to welcome you anyway!

Thanks,
I figured it would be, I learned last year that the webcams are addicting enough! Winter storm warning in effect here so you can all imagine how I feel seeing that nice warm sunny weather! 25 days for me (and counting).

I'm so envious of those of you going to Bonaire in the next few months. My buddies and I are just now firming up reservations for August. That seems so far away, but it's what you have to do if you want to use frequent flyer miles.

James: I've been looking forward to this since last April, so I know how you feel. The wait is worth it though. Have you been before?

Annie B: Well, being in the U.P we get a lot of snow, so we'll probably see about two feet between today and tomorrow. We're used to it. It makes the warm weather all that much better though!

If you haven't looked there yet, go to Bonaire Talk: Everything Else Bonaire and read the Feb/Mar BT'ers subtopics to learn more about who and what's going on during the next two months.

Good afternoon everyone, I am envious of your trip to
Bonaire, Angela. We returned to Bonaire last fall after being away for ten years. That was way too long.
The first time we stayed at Sunset Beach (sad to see it now). Two years later at Sand Dollar and then ten years later at Buddy's.
We went diving where Sunset Beach used to be and were able to find the tug boat. I think it is a mooring now!

Angela - my first trip to Bonaire was August 2000 and I've been planning to return ever since. Two of my dive buddies are teachers so we have to work within their schedules, hence the wait until August. I'll just keep monitoring the cams and reading the trip reports until then (pity is appropriate at this point, :-) ).

It is a lot of snow. That's one of the expectations of living here! Makes our local dive season somewhat short. It's a good thing we have enough divers that aren't afraid of cold water (and that's what they make 2 piece 7mls and drysuits for!). I fear that I will be spoiled with further southern travel by Bonaire. I hear not much lives up to it! I will have plenty of fun and enjoy the sun for all of you, though if that makes anyone feel any better! :-)

Hi, Eileen! I'm so excited about your Cuban trip. You simply must get better! Try Zicam. It's an over the counter medicine that contains zinc and such. It helps me! Might work for you. margarite

Here I am, a newbie. Poster, that is. I've been certified since 1984.
I decided that since I would probably never be able to open a day's posts (I live in Alaska; we're five hours behind Bonaire), I would close one. So, don't anybody make a liar of me!
Never been to Bonaire (except the airport). The closest I've been is Aruba. Plan on making it sometime, especially after I've read all of your posts on how great it is.
Usually,I'm not into the site much until night, about 11:00 p.m., Bonaire time. Does anybody ever see any night divers on the webcam?
