I love this website! I check-in about three times a day just to keep the dream alive. Just 8 months, 2 weeks until touchdown! I absolutely fell in love with Bonaire!

Jake,

Sorry to hear abou the weather station going down.
I imagine that it is pretty frustrating for you, and I will miss the daily updates on Bonaire weather.
I realize that the weather doesn't change too much down there, but it is usually dramatically nicer than it is here, and I usually take pleasure on a cold, grey day knowing that it is sunny, 83.5 degrees, with 80 degree water temp. in Bonaire.

John

It is a drizzly gray day here today (snowing in the mountains so that's good news). I absolutely love being able to check in on what the weather is doing in beautiful Bonaire - the visual aids are enough!

Or flotsam…

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Cynde Lee on Saturday, November 16, 2002 - 12:34 pm:     Edit PostPrint Post

ok, snork, what is flotsam?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Faith M. Senie on Saturday, November 16, 2002 - 5:08 pm:     Edit PostPrint Post

Flotsam is random debris floating in the water (as opposed to jetsam, which is random debris which was thrown into the water from a boat -- yes, there are separate words for the two concepts!)

Faith

Debris that is thrown or jettisoned, is jetsam. Debris that is just floating is flotsam. Just like Faith said.

Those are new terms for me. I need to start reading "Word Power" in Reader's Digest to keep up on these things.
