Hey .. just something else ..
Since I'll be there next week, we've started to do some dive-site research. I read a lot of the Bonaire Diving section, but I like to know of a site which offers a detailed Dive-Site map (I had one a while a go, but I can't find it anymore).
Or Marc/Igor/Martin (Igor, you happen to be bold and shaven as well ?? hehe), do you guys know of some book about Bonarian dive-sites (which to obtain at Donner for instance) ??

And I asked this way before, but can someone exactly point out where the reef-cam is located ??
I know Marc has told me before ...
We'll be staying at Eden Beach .. stirring up Bongo's bar at night ..
All I know is the dive-site is not accessible from the beach (private) .. where about are Jake & Linda living (dive-site nr.). I reckon the reefcam is positioned somewhere in between the two beachcam's ??

I'll be home on a monday, somewhere about noon ...

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Igor van Riel on Wednesday, October 23, 2002 - 7:13 am:     Edit PostPrint Post

Olaf,
I know a book by J. Jackson "Duikers Reisgids Aruba Bonaire Curacao" or "Dive Sites of Aruba Bonaire & Curacao". Don't know if Donner has it, Proxis does (but their delivery time might be 2 long for u).

I've long hair, but I'm loosing it pretty fast. So I've decided 2 keep it as long as it looks good 2 me and than it'll all come of at once. So I'll join the brain-breathers soon. :)

Olaf, Igor,
We have been using for years "new guide to the Bonaire marine park " by Tom van't Hof and " Diving Bonaire" by George Lewbel and Larry Martin. Both engmish language. French bookstores are very poor on Bonaire (diving) guides and we bought them on...Bonaire. We are very hard shore divers ( 3 to 4 dives a day), and we truly love these two guides.

And to all of you snorkelers out there, IMHO it's much easier to dive (once you get the training) than it is to snorkel, so if you're physically able (ie no asthma or other medical conditions) I'd go for it! You don't get mouths full of salt water when you're diving, PLUS you get to be closer to the pretty fishies

Hey, Margarite.
Yesterday I've read the trip-report suggested by u. Well I started monday and finished it yesterday. Good laughing material, although the later chapter weren't s good as the first four. They were a bit... how do you say it... langdradig. Any Dutch lurkers out there: cannot think of the right word....
Thanks 4 the link & 4 the updates of yesterday (look in the tread I've posted a thank u there).

book

Well here is the cover of the dive guide, I both it on my first visit to Bonaire back in 1997
It’s written in 1996, before Lenny.
In 1997 it was a great help for me to pick dive sites and it was quite accurate on the sites I saw.
Next week I can see how it’s holding after Lenny.

Olaf maybe we meet in the plane Sunday
