Hi Martine, Annie and Angela,
Annie, Hope the tooth is ok now.
Martine, I hope you enjoyed your trip to red sea.I looked at your site, and see you explored the wreck of the Thistlegorm. Must have been interesting.

Cynde Lee, yes I am, land at lunch time. Last year we had a great trip in a small but lovely clinker built boat with a really nice Dutch couple (I think). We found her taking bookings in a bar on the seafront and really want to do a similar thing again - enjoyed the rum punch afterwards too!.

Hi Renee, Ginny, Annie, Maria, Angela, everybody.
I am back. Geez, great tarpon shot ! I kept it in my own archives. My God, this is very seldom. I wish our small dwellers around the cam are all safe...cause it seems he was hunting. Angela, how lucky you are, I love to gaze at the cruise ships when on Bonaire.
Yes Maria, Thistlegorm wreck is very impressive, cause all what she transported remained intact in the hold since 1941.
Time for me to think about dinner, but no inspiration tonight...fish, perhaps...
Annie, this is not the moon you see shining after sunset, but Venus. How strange it appears so brightly on the cam.
Catch you later

Kit and I went snorkeling from Public Beach one day and were out quite a bit, when all of a sudden we saw 2 silvery shadows to our left. They were tarpons, and we set after them, expecting them to swim away as we approached. They didn't. We were able to swim with them for a good 5 minutes, following them, swimming above them... It was amazing! Those babies are huge! One of the most memorable moments of our vacation... and there are many to choose from :)

A friend of mine has been there a few weeks now and said there are 2 nice size tapon in the area. Usually I only see them at night here and sometimes during the day down at the pier. That photo is a keeper!

I remember this summer in june, we dove at Salt Pier and counted a 22 tarpons school. Quite impressive. We swimmed amoung them nearly to touch them. They also frequent "Hilma Hooker". Usually, you can count five dwellers there, and we regularly spotted for years around nine on the small wreck at "Divi Flamingo" around 5.30 pm, just before sunset. The wreck lays at -18m ( 55 feet). Very beautiful and graceful fishes.

I agree - that's quite the tarpon catch. They are pretty impressive in the flashlights at night.

Last July, on a night dive in front of Captain Don's, two were really shadowing Geoffrey and I, to the point where I felt like the angel of death for a lot of little fishies. One kept coming closer and closer to me, and finally I reached out and grabbed him by the tail.

It was more of a 'hey, I'm here' grab than a 'I'ma gonna whoop your ass' kind of grab - just enough for me to see what he feels like - but I think I got the point across. :)

Actually, soggy, sandy t-shirt and swim clothes from Yana's swim lesson. She has to swim with extra clothes on.

Linda,
That's odd - why does Yana have to swim with extra clothes on?

Susan, I guess because when someone falls into a river, they usually don't have time to strip first on their way down bg

I guess too make it harder. For her "A" diploma, she had to wear an undershirt, tshirt, underwear, shorts, socks and shoes (in addition to a regular swimsuit). So now she is going for her "B" diploma.
