Bye Eileen, Hi Stan, Did you get your laptop?

By Tom Cousino (Extraordinary BonaireTalker - Post #1262) on Wednesday, December 29, 2004 - 7:31 am: |
I may be selfish, but I wish this piece would be moved. Can not see what is on it even when enlarged nor can we see the fish which are usually around Willy in the morning.
|
By Martin de Weger (Supreme BonaireTalker - Post #3742) on Wednesday, December 29, 2004 - 7:36 am: |
Tom, I'll be on island tomorrow and I'll file a complaint about this for you. I noticed the pice has been placed by 2 divers yesterday around 16:30 or 17:30 (memory failure...).
|
By Tom Cousino (Extraordinary BonaireTalker - Post #1263) on Wednesday, December 29, 2004 - 7:44 am: |
Thanks Martin. Now be on your way to the airport. Give Angela a hug for me:-{)} Have fun and remember to wear heavy gloves when you are around Spirit - HA!!

Good morning everyone! Coffee is hot. Tom, get your butt to the shop and do something.;) Got an email from Bob with no news to report. Still waiting on room status too. Martin, you gotta fix that sign on Willy. I'm gettin dizzy again.
|
By Stan (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #783) on Wednesday, December 29, 2004 - 8:31 am: |
yes...fix it...thought that BT and the cams were non-commercial.....
|
By Kathy Hall (Extraordinary BonaireTalker - Post #2003) on Wednesday, December 29, 2004 - 8:41 am: |
Good morning. Hmmm. I agree with Stan and Tom - the sign needs to go! (Free Willy!! lol) It does seem to be keeping the fish away. The beach chairs haven't been straightened in ages, either, and that slight tilt on the north cam is getting on my nerves. tee hee All this affects me like I'm seeing a house that is messy PLUS a picture is hanging crooked on the wall - now two! I want to go clean it up. One MORE gripe, they haven't been turning the pier lights on!

By Jan Lokhorst (New BonaireTalk Poster - Post #8) on Wednesday, December 29, 2004 - 9:15 am: |
I recall Bonaire being an underwater nature reserve with extreme rules on protecting everything below the waterline. Not sure that signs or exhibitions fit in there. It is not as if there is not enough to see underwater.
|
By Tom Cousino (Extraordinary BonaireTalker - Post #1264) on Wednesday, December 29, 2004 - 9:21 am: |
Smack, I would go to work, but the Boss says it is my day to be with Ben and Katie:-{)} We are going to clean the house a bit, then go shopping and see "The Incredibles" - again. I love school vacations.
|
By Debbie Babcock (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #733) on Wednesday, December 29, 2004 - 9:26 am: |
Jan, yes, I was thinking the same thing when I logged on and the sign was still there. There might be an explanation for this. I was thinking, and everyone knows that can be dangerous, but here goes, MAYBE, those divers were swimming around and found that sign floating around and tried to take it back up, but the current was too strong, and they gently laid it down so not to damage anything and someone will be back today to fetch the thing out. Wishful thinking, but it could be. I guess we will have to stay tuned in for the answer. Hopefully, those divers reported this to someone when they surfaced yesterday.

By Jan Lokhorst (New BonaireTalk Poster - Post #9) on Wednesday, December 29, 2004 - 10:00 am: |
Tom, looked at the work and I like it too, and I also like the idea! But why not exhibit in the Ijselmeer or North Sea, where it would liven up the underwater world! I have seen my fair share of diving sites, and Bonaire still rates top! On the webcam it just does not look very good, all that is missing is an old washing machine and some car tires. Anyway, I am new here, so I should not moan too much...

Stan, the one on the right is the "I'm not this fat in person" one, and the left one is the one we couldn't figure out before, - something like "The weather is great, the bar is great, too".
|
By Debbie Babcock (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #734) on Wednesday, December 29, 2004 - 10:29 am: |
Great idea, Mare! Why didn't I think of that? I'm sure they are not purposely letting the art work just float around down there.

Kathy, You would make a great detective! I think the thing just got washed in the water by mistake, was very close to the water line. Just another guess. I got to go to grocery store to pick up a few things, catch up with you all later. Deb

Mare, Thanks. Yesterday it appeared that the piece was intentionally placed by a couple of divers.
|
By John"Smack"Anderson (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #238) on Wednesday, December 29, 2004 - 10:49 am: |
Looks like it was placed there on purpose. Currents run too frequently near the cam for it to land there by chance.
