Drying out day today; packing wet gear and leaving it for 2 days would make it funky, at best. This time tomorrow I'll be headed back to Phoenix. Sigh. I'll be doing touristy things today, and making sure I still have a flight back.

There was a STRONG current at the reef cam yesterday, not visible at the buoy. I was crabbing at 45 degrees on the descent. I kept fighting to stay centered, hold onto the sign and keep the wig in place. The bubbles were inflating it and it'd float up. Looks like it didn't take very well, but I had a clown costume on. Patty Lynn will verify that it's appropriate I just gave up and aborted finally. I should probably have used a chin strap on the wig, but I didn't want too much strapped to my head in case doo-doo happened.

And no, it wasn't a rat, it was a rubber chicken. What else would a clown be carrying??

If he's still up for it, I'll be headed over to Gibi's for The Last Supper. For those of you a little more technically addicted, Gibi's home is at N12 08.7557 W68 16.0861. The overall Berndtson & Berndtson map is very precise, the 3 close-in views are all 'artistically modified' and are NOT geographically accurate at all. Their main Bonaire map puts you near the corner of Kaya Hulanda, but the closer coastal Kralendijk view puts you out in a field... If he keeps it lit like last time, both cars AND planes will have no problem finding him ;-)

Here's a few shots from earlier, including one looking up Willy's foredeck for Stan, Sarge, or whoever's name that is that I keep abusing. The one of Willy's aft is the reason for the wild kick a few days back.

Hi Stan!

Starting to worry that I may be stuck inside with the twins playing cards instead of diving. Not sure I want to send them to the kids program at the Plaza if they won't be able to snorkel. Darn I just bought 2 bottles of sunscreen! Think happy, sunny thoughts!

Uh, you're getting wet in the ocean. Why the angst about getting rained on? I agree, it's nicer with the sun out, but still... at least you're able to be in the warm Bonaire waters skimming over a reef teeming with life.

I'm in Massachusetts, where it's dreary and cold, and only going to get drearier and colder. I'll gladly switch places with you! :-)

Okay, I agree that wet is wet, but sunny and hot is what gets me through the winter and it just wears the kids down to a pulp. I've already started chanting "Spring is coming, Spring is coming" and we haven't even had our first freeze here in Dallas yet. I rather wear sunscreen than a sweater any day! You really have to love winter to live in Massachusetts. Maybe all of should move to an island ... Calgon took me away there for a minute. I'm going to vacuum that always cheers me up (NOT!).

And, Claudia - I'll take that Calgon moment. It is pounding rain here in Portland. Just the beginning of months of grey rain.

Claudia...it is great to dive or snorkel when it's raining! Susan's right...the waters warm, the air temperature is warm, it's a Caribbean shower remember, not a freezing rain....nothin' like looking up at 40 feet and seeing it raining, right Kelly? I forgot that flood we got that last day....we went from Plan A, to Plan B, to Plan C....most of the roads were flooded, couldn't get to the Donkey Sanctuary....LOL! Even Annie stood us up at Lac Bay! What am I saying Claudia, relax mon! You will enjoy....and usually, the rain only lasts for a short while then the sun comes out again! It's all good girlfriend ;-)

Does it say something on the bottom of this sunbed?

There shouldn't be *any* algae on the UW cam lens. I disected it and cleaned inner and outer lenses thoroughly. May be all the junk washing down into the ocean. The vis at the surface is zero, or was, just as appealing as diving a bucket of mud. Looks like it's cleared at depth a little, at least. I don't see any smudges that are at a consistent position, so I don't think it's algae.

So *that's* why I'm missing my time slots. Both my laptop AND my UW watch are creeping quickly. The laptop is off by 45 seconds after just a couple of weeks, and I'd been timing the watch off of it. Doh! Looks like I'll have to run back over for my exit, since it only caught me leaving. Plane is off at 7AM, so it's BYE, ALL! Bon dia from Sunny Bonaire ;-)
