I couldn't help myself, I cleaned up the beach :-) Although now it looks like steep dunes, lol.

I took it to a photo editor and smeared it. :-)
That is quite a high water mark!

Can hear her thinking: Now I finally made it to Bonaire and where are all those glorious sunsets everyone's been raving about?
where

Kathy, I've noticed that too, since Ivan skirted Bonaire. The water line seems to be much higher ever since then. You can see the little dock/bridge has much more water under it lately. Maybe it's just being noticed more now, but I think the water line has come in closer to shore since Ivan. Carole

PS Nice job on the sand! cb

Strange weather since Ivan...you're right, Carole. High water, lots of rain, wind reversals....

Tell me about it! Still no word from hubby on Bonaire. Don't know if he got any painting done or not! Worried sick.

This weather sure is out of sorts for such a long period of time too. These wind reversals, how long CAN they last. Seems this one is forever. I am really bummed out for hubby and I miss him too.

Maybe he's still painting, Debbie? (positive thoughts, lol) Hope he did get a lot accomplished.

A yucky sunset

And does this mean that the bar cam is going to work at night again? pic

I miss most of the sunsets during the week, so this one was a downer. But we'll see what Monday brings!

We have to look forward to Cheryl making a cam appearance sometime tommorrow. Hope she saw yesterday's sunset, it was a lot better. And being on Bonaire is much better than here. Just not when you're painting this week! Ha, Ha.!

Sorry, folks, the BeachBarCam was my fault. I handn't considered it, but the IR LEDs were reflecting a little from the polarizing film, returning a LOT more light than was reflected from the area in front. That's what wiped out the night shots. I mentioned it to Henk, and he agreed: lose the polarizing filter. It didn't appear to do much in that location, anywise.

I also cleaned both sets of lenses on the UW Cam earlier, any residual muck you may see is the result of the massively bad vis we've had since the storm starting last Weds. When I went off Eden pier earlier (I chickened out, what with the rough surf) the vis as I entered was under a foot! I had to get below 15' to see anything, and it was still miserable down to around 30'. Down at Willy's depth, it's running 30 to 40 feet or so, it's not a fogged lens.

We've been seeing lotsa lightning to the West this eve, so I'm headed out to Lac Cai tomorrow. A long swim-out is a LOT better than no vis and dangerous entry/exits.

I managed to get a couple of pictures down from the previous thread before it stalled. The wide kick was me trying to line up on Willy's aft deck. The modified DiveRite doesn't like going sideways at 45 degrees, and it takes a little persuasion.

It's waaay too painful with TeleType speeds to upload any of the shots I took. Got a real pretty Sand Diver guarding the coax to the UW Cam, and a nice shot of a Sarge (Hi, Stan!) on Willy's foredeck, but not tonight. It took over a half hour to load some of the previous thread.... which really chaps my @ss, since I work in Communications. AAAGGGGHHHH, it's 1975 all over again! I had better connection with an acoustic modem than this.

Thanks Stan. Appreciate you enduring the pain to give us an update. We'll look forward to whatever you can share when you get home to some increased bandwidth.

Enjoy your visit to Cai.
