Good morning everyone. Annie - that shot is GREAT - looks like a person looking back at us - I think I'll call her Morning Beauty though she really should do SOMETHING with those eyebrows. I'll take some decaf please...oh wait, I have some Starbucks decaf already.

Here's to everyone. Even those I am jealous of...going to Bonaire soon...without us... (sniff, sniff)

Hi Stan, Mara. Welcome to BT, Ty. Yes, there are some of us going, some are already there, and of course, there are some of us wishing we were there! The later would be me. I got PBD bad today.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Martin de Weger (Supreme BonaireTalker - Post #3648) on Monday, October 18, 2004 - 7:33 am:     Edit PostPrint Post

And others wish they still would be on island... :-(

We came back this morning and when I was ready to go to the office, I found out some piece of S#$T found it a good thing to break into my car. So, about 4.5 hours later, all the files are completed, the car is at the garage and my blood pressure is coming down to normal values...

I think I need a vacation BAD!!

And a warm welcome to the new BT-ers off-course.

My friends went for the first time in 2002 and i went with them in 2003 we have decided that this will be an annual trip. we figured we cant possibly see everything there unless we go every year.

Ty - you are a man after my own heart. I am happy to report that this has become an annual trip for myself and for others as well. First trip was in 1998 and I've been every year (sometimes 2 or 3 times in the year) since then.

Martin - I am SO sorry that happened to you. IT SUCKS when people do that AND when we find out about it right after vacation. One year they did a company re-organization while I was on vacation in Bonaire. I got to find out about who was let go when I got back. And that was the trip where we had to over night in MOBAY because AJ were kind of screwed up. Oh well - that's how the cookie crumbles. It just somehow seems to negate our time off - sigh.

Martin, how terrible for you! Here's a couple of hugs to make you feel better!

Ty, glad to hear you enjoyed Bonaire. It is the kind of island that keeps calling you back and back and back. You don't have a pic in your profile, if you post one, we will know who you are when you wave at the web cams at Bongo's or under the sea!

Good Morning / Afternoon Everyone!! :-) :-)

Welcome Ty!! :-) Pennsy huh....We're almost neighbours LOL

Jake, Dan ??? Looks like we have 'locked up'

I know, that's what I get for camming instead of painting!!! :-)

Almost done with the paint - Need a second coat on the ceiling and some touch up on the walls.

Martin - sorry to hear about your break in - hope nothing valuable was taken. It's enough of a pain with all the paper work.

Barb, big hug to you - hope everything goes well with your mom in her new digs, and with your dad as well :-) :-)

Have a great day, I'll be peeking in from time to time - once I get everything done :-)

The WebCams have not locked up, but the connection that the WebCams server uses between Miami, Curacao, and Bonaire appears to be suffering from 80% packet loss (in non-geek speak imagine speaking with someone on the phone and only hearing 2 out of every 10 syllables - not good).

Hopefully it will get fixed soon.

Jake

Jake thanks for the explanation - I hope it will get wells soon!!

Welcome Ty!!

TY - I will be arriving on Bon on the 24th for my 3rd trip in about a year. It is very hard to stay away once you start going! I hope to see you on the island!

Martin - I am so sorry to hear that your welcome home turned sour! I hope your week gets better!

Only hearing 2 out of every 10 syllables - that's like talking to my husband because that's all he hears. Maybe he's suffering from an 80% packet loss. Of course if he would go to the ear doctor we MIGHT get that taken care of... GRRR!

Marabeth, I don't think a doctor can help as it's an irreversible condition called MARRIAGE. I can hear 99%+ of friend's conversations, but they only hear 50% of each other (or less). Something about a ring on your finger appears to constrict blood to the brain.....

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it's off to work I go.

An update to what Jake said.

Traffic between Bonaire and Massachusetts feeds primarily over a network owned by a company called Level(3). They have a very large circuit from Washington DC to Miami that is malfunctioning. That's tossing something like 40% of all traffic on that path.

Friends who work at the company say there's work going on to fix it. As I'm typing this, it appears the Level3 folks have managed to route around their problems.

Separately, there's still some data loss between Curacao and Bonaire.

Dan

Thanks for the esplanation :-) Gotta love long range computing!! :-) :-)

Cindylou and Cheryl - :-) Sorry, but ain't NO way I'd ever go into the house painting biz - That 1 room has driven me nuts!! :-) :-)

But the good news is - it's ALMOST finished!! :-) :-) :-)

Final coat is on the walls - have to let them set up for a couple of hours, and then I can put the final coat on the ceiling!! :-) :-)

And then, maybe I can get everything back in and clean up the rest of the house for Mrs. T!!

Lucky me, she's going to be late coming in - the train she's catching has been delayed by 4 hours. :-) :-)

Oops.... better find a picture....

No hard & fast rule on numbers of posts per thread, but be considerate of those on dial-up connections who have to wait forever for long pages to download.
