Good morning Martine,

Blue it is !

just lucky timing I guess, won't miss much due to time difference.
Look at the bright side : digging machine operators are the same all over the world :-)

"hey dude, whats this"? "Idunno , just jank it out of there , duh , the things people leave behind on the beach, dude"
( says he who once spend a halfhour trying to chop a tree root with a ax, turned out to be the metal wrapping of a subterrain power cable:-) , yep , almost changed my hair do :-) )

Sjoss :-)

Good morning by the way Martine and Joss.
Desperate need some coffee (where can i see the icons like :-) ???)
cannot find those on the help-pages.

Well, feeling much better today, but that's relative: slept I think three hours, so working won't be very productive I guess.

Can't believe I missed it!

Perhaps because I found a shorter way typing : ) (without the space) to get :-)
Well, al technical stuff. The coffee-smiley is nog in that list, but I will stop this in this thread because this is off-topic here.

Yep, lets hope Jake can fix it, I was very glad to see thing getting back to normal on the cams.

Good Morning / Afternoon, Everyone!! :-) :-)

Too bad about the cable being cut. Joss, you are quite right though - put something anywhere, and the operators will cut it!! Unless of course that's what they were supposed to do - then they couldn't find it if they tripped over it LOL

Busy day again I'm glad I retired - I wouldn't have time to be this busy if I was still working!! :-)

Beautiful blue water, with a white dot (???)
water

and a beauty at the beach bar!!

beauty

Have a great day all :-) :-)

:-) Bill :-)

See you on the cams shortly. Please be forewarned that I may need to take all the Cams off line for a bit during this process.

98 days until we leave for Bonaire - not that I'm counting or anything... but I sure am ready to go NOW! And then I wanted to whine because of the Beeeer sign - I'll take a Bright please!

So is PBD Post Bonaire Depression or Pre Bonaire Depression or none of the above?

Well, the repair was a real pain - the cable is Kevlar coated - so something of a challenge to splice - plus it's a three conductor cable (power, ground, video). First attempt snapped the video connection. Finally ended up using the plastic tube of a Bic pen to create a "splint" for the section of cable I was splicing to make sure it didn't bend and snap again on the second try.

And now the cable is in a PVC pipe that the maintenance folk at Eden Beach will be burying shortly, so that should protect the cable further.

Henk from Bongo's also decided he wanted a bit more life in the BeachBarCam, so we moved that over a bit.

Nice to be back in my quiet cool office again :-)

Jake
