By Kathy Hall (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #300) on Monday, August 16, 2004 - 11:53 am: |
I don't know Annie, if it's the one that was there when we were, it's much bigger than the normal yellowtail snappers we've seen.
By Jenni Hardy (Supreme BonaireTalker - Post #4002) on Monday, August 16, 2004 - 12:01 pm: |
Blimey, they DO look big! I went snorkelling in the mangroves [very lousy vis] and a great big fish popped out from nowhere and scared the living daylights out of me! What sort of fish is this?
By Kathy Hall (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #301) on Monday, August 16, 2004 - 12:02 pm: |
Well, I guess some yellowtails do get that big - maybe California Yellowtails...this is about the right size and shape:

By Kathy Hall (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #302) on Monday, August 16, 2004 - 12:18 pm: |
Surely the big yellowtail is not a yellowfin tuna? However, it looks more like that fish than the yellowtail one posted above. hmmm
By Kathy Hall (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #303) on Monday, August 16, 2004 - 12:21 pm: |
I give up, lol. Those fins don't look right. Back to work for me.

By Kathy Hall (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #308) on Monday, August 16, 2004 - 2:39 pm: |
I think the striped one is a banded butterfly and of course, the one just above is picasso. Divers back there, too.
