Hi folks,

It has been a great experience to see the new cams pics posted by you at the forum! This is the only way I can get to see them, since at my work I can´t access the cams website (it is blocked by websense). As we have almost the same timezone in Rio and Bonaire I usually can´t access the online content to see the daylight.

Well, nevermind. I was just wanting ti ask if you can tell me a little about that wreck that is sunk in front of Eden Beach and we can see from the underwater reef cam!

Daniel

Dan, later on in the day the all-knowing Cynde Lee will pop in and tell you what she knows about the wreck. All I remember is that it isn't a pirate galleon.

Hey Annie! I'm doing some text scanning and OCR for the historical society - and have the cams on too. Love it!

Papamiento is somewhat similar to portuguease. I think that might have been some portuguease colonizers in the old days at the island. You never know... :-) Have a nice dinner!

Bon Bini my friends:-) Daniel, welcome...OK, as for the wreck, it is the Baka di Laman yacht (not the ferry/water taxi). The yacht ran aground a couple of days after the Lenny waves struck in '99 - the mooring line snapped after the strain of the previous days...what I don't know is it's length...hmmm...anyone? Oh, and Baka di Laman apparently means "Sea Cow, or Cow of the Sea."

Have a good day my friends:-)

Good night all, I will go to bed early tonight. I am not feeling that good cause I had to leave my cat Ramses at the vet's hospital till monday. He is 16 years old and suffers a serious renal insufficiency. He is under perfusion, and vet is quite pessimistic, so do I :o(
See you tomorrow for breakfast. Have a nice evening.

Sorry about Ramses. I've had many cats over the years and know how you feel. It is so hard when they get old and sick.

Talk to you in the morning.

I'll make a new one and post it in the next thread.

About the Tangs, I watched them in breeding groups straight outside the marina, in about 50 feet of water, just as the sun was setting.

There must have been several hundred milling around, some in little groups of five to ten. The groups were doing spawning rushes, swimming up about fifteen feet, then breaking apart and then swimming back to the sandy bottom.

SO, these guys must be going off to the party.

Melissa - sounds so cool. I love watching the behaviors of fishes - and they look so silly while they're spawning. Not like people, or anything. ;)

Melissa, cool story! I know the wrasses mate that way, didn't know tangs do it! I have the humaan fish behavoir book, and it is really cool that they are actually doing something down there...just not swimming around! LOL!
