I don't know when I'll get to the Cams, but watch for a short, grey haired lady with glasses - sometime next week. Or on the Reefcam - blue goggles and fins. It's gong to be a real relief to be there and not here!! Hot and muggy in Washington, DC these days.

Bill... I´ll send a hello for you from the cam when I´m there! :-) This will be my first time on the island and I´m going with a bunch of crazy friends of mine to have a lot of fun. I hope to meet some BT´s there at the time and also have fun with them.

About a sunny day at Rio, at least I can get to work in good mood... but this is useless since I´m stuck on the office typing in the computer. I´d rather be diving... and I´d rather be in Bonaire.

and that reminds me... 3 weeks to paradise!

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!! :-))

Elvira. Great try! But we speak portuguease in Brazil, not spanish. Saying hello here will be something like this:

Bom dia, como vai? ;)

Thanks for the welcome anyway!

PS - no problem on the confusion, most people from america usually mess this up. another funny confusion is that many americans think that Brazil´s capital is Buenos Aires, which is Argentina´s, our neighbour and rival on soccer.

Not all of us Daniel (Brasilia now used to be Rio), I going to make it to your great country one of these days. Welcome by the way.

Ahh, Bill do we need to talk with your wife, she may not appreciate you drooling over a blonde in Bonaire.

Daniel, I was not trying anything. I know that in Brazil you speak portuguese and that Buenos Aires is not the capital of Brazil. Actually, Brazil has been one of my favorites soccer teams besides Argentina. I am from Costa Rica so I should know. This is what I get just for being friendly :-(

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Daniel Accioly Rosa (BonaireTalker - Post #15) on Thursday, July 15, 2004 - 9:56 am:     Edit PostPrint Post

Cecil,

Nice call! It was Rio until 1963. Then Brasilia was built by our JK, one of our former presidents, and you know the rest. Did you know Salvador was also Brazil´s captial for some time? (loooooong ago!)

I don´t get upset on this type of messups that some people make about Brazil. I can tell you for sure I don´t know the Capital of Yuguslavia... also I used to think Sydney was the capital of Australia until some days ago.

Well, when you and your wife com down to Rio, please let me know. I´ll be happy to show you the dive spots (not as wonderful as Bonaire, of course) and take you around if you want.
