Hello all,
I just wanted to have your opinion about our reef cam critters gallery.
First of all, Jake, will you maintain ?
If positive, it will be quite hard to do it again in a near future cause the essential is missing : pictures.
So I suggest the following : we could imagine all our little dwellers decided to follow the reef cam on its new location. Then we keep seing Picasso, Satch, Pierre etc...
I noticed new one are showing, like a rock beauty. Then We could extend the actuel reef cam critters galery.
We do not know if Charlotte followed the block. She was our emblematic dweller, so I suggest, in case she didn't move and another one is taking over to have her renamed. Of course, Charlotte will stay at her place in the reef cam critters galery.
Thanks for giving your opinion.
Martine

Hi Martine,

We'll certainly maintain the link to the gallery page you created if that's what you're asking. I would probably suggest moving the current critters over to an "Old ReefCam" page, and start anew.

In terms of Charlotte, it's pretty likely she has not moved with the mooring - I looked for her on Friday when we moved it down to 60 feet/20 meters, and there was no sign of her. Also, you generally don't see yellowtail damselfish at that depth, and in fact, a number of the fish species we had been seeing regularly probably will not appear in front of the new ReefCam location. However, as you and we noticed, we are getting new species we had never seen before on the ReefCam, such as a rock beauty, a mahogany snapper, creole fish, etc.

Jake

I think it's a good idea to make a new gallery. I can't id many of the fishes we are seeing at the moment, so a new gallery would be helpful for everyone. Martine, I have most of the pictures. Let me know if you want them sent over to you. Annie B.

Hi. Can someone suggest the proper video/monitor settings so that I don't get odd "halos," etc when looking at the reef cam? I notice I also get strange streaks on my Desktop. Obviously, a display/monitor setting is out of whack somewhere. I have tried changing the Settings with no luck. I have Windows XP Home, use Norton A/V, ZoneAlarm, AdAware, and do all the regular maintenance. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks very much.

Martine, I think everyone would be supportive of keeping the reef cam critter gallery! :-)
Jake, wonder if i.d. is going to be more difficult with less color? i.e. see todays discussion about fish i.d.! :-)
