Good Morning Everyone :-):-):-)

am

What an amazing and wonderful sight the cams are. First time for me to see the reefcam :-)

Kev and I have our new house now :-):-):-) Stayed there most of weekend but I'm back home now and catching up on emails and boards. We are not moving in till middle July. I have now sold my house [if all goes well] and that will go through end of July/beginning of August. Nearly through this whole exhausting process.

John, I went to Manchester on Friday and got myself a Starbucks coffee, and thought of you. I had a Grande, Cafe Latte with Caramel shot. Divine :-)

Good morning all.

I have Starbucks Gazebo Coffee , bold taste this morning for all. (They gave me a sample last night.) Have a cup! :-)

Jenni, Good going on the houses. That is so tough to do. (We are in our 5th house and have sold four of ours and my parents house.)

I love the new cam. Do you notice how the location of bait fish change. It is lets us know the direction of the current. The fish are very interesting. One question, at this depth have we lost the color red from the fish we see?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Cecil Berry (Supreme BonaireTalker - Post #3564) on Monday, July 5, 2004 - 9:07 am:     Edit PostPrint Post

Bon Dia all. John, that's amazing you should ask that question. I was thinking the same thing and searched the archivies to see if we have any reds. Sorry to say they are all but gone as are the yellows and most of the green. I also went back and checked the discussion about the future reef cam location. No mention of the loss of colors although Jake apologized for his photo of the spot for that reason.

Interesting no one thought of it, the camera does work on reflected light and there is nothing but blue light at that depth. The best best on tweaking the capture would be to convert them to black and white and go from there.

None of this is a complaint and I love the new location and would not change with the old.

You're right Annie but he was pretty close to the cam, there was also a little yellow in the goatfish. Any distance from the camera and there's only blue left. Look at the diver yesterday with a flag, something we know is bright red, almost none got to the cam.

Noticed the conduit had resurfaced last night. Glad to see the workers out taking care of that. Wish I could remember their names. There was one fellow from the Dominican Republic, another from Venezuala and the third from Mozambique. None of them spoke English, but for the most part we managed to communicate. When we got confused, we'd get a translation :-)

Annette, The 11:04 image looks like a Spotted Trunkfish.

And the goatfish has two barbels under the tip of chin. I don't think that is a goatfish.

There was a trumpet fish hanging around the wreck on Saturday morning, so there's certainly a chance of it visiting the cam.

A school of goatfish seem to have a rock they like to congregate on, just below the cam.

I can highly recommend the diving at Eden Beach for the number and variety of fish. The wrecks certainly attract fish, as does the area directly under the pier.
