Well, not nearly as much as we had hoped got accomplished with the WebCams install today (July 1st) as Dan and I had hoped. The big thing that did get done was the install of the air conditioner in the server room - what a difference that makes! All the equipment is very happy now (unlike yesterday, when at least one piece of equipment conked out due to temporary heat stroke).

As you can see on the North BeachCam, a trench got dug to lay pipes with cables for the rest of the cams. Plan is in the morning to put in the piped, run the cables, and then by mid/late afternoon, hopefully have the two other land-based WebCams operational. The new StreetCam camera is a low light, IR illuminated camera, so we should be able to get images off of it 24 hours a day. Dan says the colors on that camera are also outstanding.

As far as the ReefCam goes, the mooring did not get moved today, but we are scheduled to attempt the mooring move with the Marine Park's help at 2pm tomorrow. That may well be an all afternoon adventure.

I took Dan on a tour of the site for the ReefCam (and Eden's/WannaDive's reef in general) and he was pleased, although both of us were a bit amazed at the ripping southward current we experienced at 5:30pm this evening during our tour dive - it was reminiscent of Cozumel drift diving!

So, more later as it develops (and gets connected :-) )

Jake

Good morning, and what a beautiful, tropical, Bonaire morning it is.

We are at 7:08 and holding - but hey, we're patient as long as we have sun, surf and sand to dream about.

Thanks so much for last night's pics - beautiful.

Jake, thanks for the update!

This is going to be a long weekend, we have Monday off because of Sunday, July 4 celebration.
And it continues to rain here in Georgia and hoping that it stops a little on the weekend.

You all have a great day and remember to smile :-)

Rusty, please note. And here in Georgia you must buy the fifth on the third because they will not sell a fifth on the fourth this year. Creates a serious planning problem for the alcoholic. No bottles sold on Sunday here.

Hi Lisa, that Cecil, he's a swinger, ya know. And now we know why they put covers on beer steins.

Annie - do you mean the cam is sticking? I keep losing shots. What's that keyboard shortcut to make it change after you hit it for the BIG cam pix?

No, it's my computer Rusty, and the keyboard. Keyboard manufacturer is trying to help us get it configured. It's all above my head, I know that much. Annie B.

P.S. Hope the beer doesn't go to Cecil's head hanging around like that. Honestly the things people do to get noticed on the cams. LOL.
