Smile and have some Starbucks coffee! :-)

A day closer to a new home for the cams. The new location for the reef cam looks great to me. I dived the site last October, but we missed the wreck.

Martine, you are about to be covered with Starbucks coffee shops. Their move to Paris is soon.

There is already one franchise store in Paris. Just look it up and give it a visit.

Hi John, Martine, Jennie and Annie!!!
Jenni - good luck at the dentist!!!
Martine - how are you feeling!?!?!?

I had to catch up on the shutting down of the reef cam - very busy weekend - on Sunday spent 12 hours going to Charlotte NC to put my oldest son on a plane to Munich!!!! His first time flying alone and first time flying out of the country!!!

Jake - I love the new location for the reef cam - Kelly and I already have that spot planned out for a dive - that hopefully we will have video taped!!!

Annie how are you feeling these days!?!?!?

Mary. I am a lot better than I was thank you. I am still running on high, but not at danger levels any more. Annie B.

Dive boat is here just to torment us all. LOL.

Had a great weekend very busy at the conference and lots of fun - 216 women, can't u imagine!!!

Martine, and how are you doing? Hope each day is better for you.

Annie, hope ur doing well.

Eileen, I am sure the baptism went well. Look forward to pics. Quinn is growing fast!!

SOCCER - love soccer specially European soccer. Who won between Holland and France? I specially enjoy watching Germany, Holland, France, Spain, Italy. I am glued to the TV when the World Cup is around.

Mary, is your son going with an exchange program to Germany? It is going to be an experience for him. I hope he enjoys it.

I hope all of you have a wonderful week. Talk to you later. Elvira :-)

Elvira - 216 women at one conference!!! WOW!!! Re you still sane!?!?!?

My hubby's parents are from Germany - he is the first born the US in his familY!!! Alex is staying with his great aunt who live right over the German border in Austria. He will be gone for 6 weeks!!!

Jos - he is 15 and yes he is allowed to drink beer there with his aunt and uncle!!! That does not hold much interest to him though - what holds his interest is the topless swimmers at the beaches!!! The norm there - not the norm here!!!LOL!!!

Good afternoon everyone,

It's a wonderful day by the looks of things. I can't wait to see what the new location looks like for the webcam. Does anyone have any info on the house dive at the new location?

Jake: Are you having the pedestal the reefcam was on moved? If so, could it be closer to the drop-off?

Mary, so lucky of your son to go and spent time with family, specially at his age - it is an experience. Austria, that is one the places I want to go visit.

Hi LaDonna, hope your day goes smooth.

Kevin,
The wreck can be found easily if you head straight out from the dock to about 60ft. There is not a lot of live coral in that area, but if you turn right and head north you will come to a much better area of the reef. I did many dives from the beach as o'dark thirty's before breakfast, and although the coral is sparse there you can still find cool stuff like lobsters, eels, frogfish, scorpion fish, flounder. A night dive will bring out the tarpon. Be aware of the current. It can get rather strong at times. It's going to be a great site for the cam.

Only 120 more days til I get to see it in person:D

DUDE! What an awesome location. Woooo Hoooo !

You should be able to shim the camera mount to make up for the 15 degree slope. Be sure to leave Mr/Mrs Octopus at the old site, no more stolen red lens :-)

I know (emphasis) that there will be a lot more to talk about once the beach cam(s) start. Claire and I will be there September 2 - 12. I'm counting the days.

It feels good to get caught up on this thread.

Hey Annie :-)

79 days and counting. Claire and I are really excited. I have a new digital camera and a housing with strobe on the way. I plan on a total "pictures in review" of the new reefcam site once I get there, unless someone beat me to it.

I tried sending the bird photo today. let me know if it went through.

Nice afternoon

You bet, she is Advanced Open Water and just got her NITROX cert last month. AHHHH NITROX, the refreshing way to dive.

So glad you got the lucky picture. I'll take care of the spamblocker. have to have it with all the viruses out there.

I wonder if there is a green flash in store for the island tonight?

Nitrox enables me to stay down longer and that air is sooooo sweet with 36% O. I used to have a head ache after every 3rd or 4th dive using straight air. Never again with Nitrox. Also being old and overweight, it is safer than air. Reduces the chance of DCS when using a conservative dive pattern.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Kevin McCarthy (BonaireTalker - Post #15) on Monday, June 14, 2004 - 7:01 pm:     Edit PostPrint Post

NITROX is really intended to allow one to stay a bit longer at intermediate depths and it shortens your surface interval. Our experience is that we do have more energy after 2 dives that on air. I like it.

Everything went well, Quinn did not cry. He did cry at the last part of the service, was hungry, hot and wet. It was a busy day for him that he slept really well at night last night!
