Good Morning Everyone! Our place has been de-christmastized (makes sense??). Joel and I realize that it is now 2004 (2003 made everything sound so far away) and we should get going on the baby's room. Today we are going to get paint and start painting. Sage green colour.

Nice pics from a boat this morning.

Morning Eileen,

After two wonderful and laid back days I am heading back to work - drats.

Please read the paints' caution label completely.
Fumes, even from latex and acrylic paints might not be a good thing for you to breath!! Joel might want to do all of the painting for this reason.

Have a great day.

Hi Eileen. For our woodwork, we bought a white gloss paint which was water based. No nasty fumes, and it is quick drying too. The brushes clean up nicely in water also. Annie B.

Not much about today.

Happy new year everyone! Annie, I bet your 8:44 is Dan and Faith coming over to see the Richters:-)

Looks like the BBQ was a success...(even though Wally got soaked at the BBQ). I think that he and Roger Huff should get an award for manning the Richter BBQ at such events:-)

Oh, and I keep telling you that Dutch women are the prettiest! I wish I had the guts (and body heat) to dive in a bikini!

Good morning, everyone.

2 Looks like this boat just passed by.

So, it is now 2004! Least wise, that's what my computer says, and, of course, it never lies.

Beautiful sunny day here today. About 22F/5C here is the max its supposed to reach today. Chilly.

Eileen, you be careful around that paint, you hear?

good morning all, or actually afternoon here~!!! the weather here is dark.... didn't want to get up this morning. and cold.. burrr sure wish I was on Sunny Bonaire.. P
Eileen, I think that there is a company that makes paint that is ok for pregnant women to breathe.. perhaps it is made by Disney or Sesame St.. not sure... Check it out and be careful//

Sure wish Jake would fix the beach cams when he gets the chance...the panos won't be the same.... does the North Beach cam have a wide angle on it???

Happy new year from Chicago,

Although my body is trapped in Illinois, my heart and soul remain on Bonaire.

My current passion (A Russian sidecar motorcycle) has taken me from my ability to concentrate on things underwater (or pay for them for that matter-lol)and a trip to Bon in '03 was just not in the cards or budget. But not a day goes by that I don't think of the true peace I felt on my trips there, and I continue to try to scrape up the funds to return.

My wish for everyone is a happy, prosperous and above all else SAFE 2004.

Peace

Randy

Good Afternoon / Evening All :-)

Mrs. Turtle came out for a visit - and to return a couple of Christmas gifts - so was away from the cams and keyboard for quite a while.. :-)
I love the rosy appearance to the North cam now...

Found a boat going by in both cams.

Thanks for the photos all.

Freddie, the Disney Paint is made by Behr and sold at Home Depot (my favorite therapy place). You are so right that it is advertised sometimes as being safe for pregnant women to breath. However, if one goes to Behrs' website this will be found on every paint listing;

"WARNING! This product contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.

WARNING! IRRITANT! HARMFUL IF SWALLOWED. CONTAINS ETHYLENE GLYCOL. MAY CAUSE EYE, NOSE AND THROAT IRRITATION. AVOID CONTACT WITH SKIN AND EYES AND AVOID BREATHING OF VAPORS AND SPRAY MIST. WEAR EYE PROTECTION AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. USE ONLY WITH ADEQUATE VENTILATION. To avoid breathing vapors and spray mist, open windows and doors or use other means to ensure fresh air entry during application and drying. If you experience eye watering, headaches or dizziness, increase fresh air. If properly used, a respirator (NIOSH approved for organic vapor with P series particulate pre-filter) may offer additional protection; obtain professional advice before using. A dust mask does not provide protection against vapors. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Wash thoroughly after handling. Close container after each use. FIRST AID: If you experience difficulty in breathing, leave the area to obtain fresh air. If continued difficulty is experienced, get medical assistance immediately. In case of eye contact, flush immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and get medical attention; for skin, wash thoroughly with soap and water. If swallowed, get medical attention immediately.
CAUTION: KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN-DO NOT TAKE INTERNALLY."

Never could understand the latter part of that last line.

Hello! Our room is done, the first room with colour in it, the rest of the house is still builder's white! Thank-you all for your advice on paint and painting. We talked about fumes etc. with our midwife and with the other expectant parents on our street. Everything is/will be OK.

I only have one problem, I want to finish the rest of the house now! LOL!

April 16th, Give or take a day or so - LOL! I am working until April 8th.

Our neighbour is due any day now. She has had one of the worst pregnancies I have ever know, she has been really ill lately and has lost weight. The baby is healthy not to worry. Her due date is Jan. 9 and should she not go into labour by then, she will be induced. I can't wait to find out if it is a little boy or little girl!
