Please tell me that the rain will stop soon.

Is the visibility bad??

Janet...take a deeeeppp breath.....relax....:-)

In July, it rained pretty much non-stop the last 3 days we were there due to a hurricane that passed through the caribbean. As I've said before, diving in the rain is pretty cool when you look up and see it hitting the surface of the water...vis did drop to about 50-70 feet by our last day, but that is still a LOT better than I have diving locally.

Plus, ANY day of diving on Bonaire is better than not diving at all! Relax, you will have a great time!

Here are a couple of small wall shots from our last 2 days...looks pretty similar to what it is now...so you will be fine:-) (Unless someone down there right now can tell us EXACTLY what the vis is:-))

amer Yes Janet, take a deep breath, you should arrive on a rainy day, but it doesn't last more than one week ( no, I am kidding :o) ).
Here's a satellite imagery I found for you, it should remain cloudy tomorrow too. As Cynde says, it's better to dive under the rain than not diving at all.
I wish I could be there too. I am sure you'll enjoy a beautuful sunset tomorrow and the sun will be back on friday :o)
Just enjoy.

On Bonaire you don't have trouble with the runoff messing up the vis like you do on mainland coastal dive sites. It drops some, but from 100 foot vis to 50-60, instead of down to 5-6. No surf either.

Pat,

Taste of Bonaire was cancelled, but a bunch of us still met at City Cafe at 6:30pm Tuesday night as Liz had suggested, and then ended up moving over to Gibi's around 8pm for dinner. Sorry to have missed you this past week, but nice seeing you again the week before.

Jake

I left Bonaire on Wednesday after 2 weeks of mostly rain. Okay, so we lost power a couple of times in Belnem, telephone and cell phone service was spotty as was the Internet connection off the island.

I didn't care. As long as there wasn't lightening, I was diving. You can get tanks! That's the important thing. And the wonderful restaurants were all open.

I'm back to a Nor'easter and we've got at least 18 inches of snow if not more and it's still coming down. Did get out and do some cross-country skiing last night.

It's what you make of it. I'll take Bonaire in the rain and Boston in the snow!

Lee, glad you had a wonderful trip! You said that right "It's what you make of it." I'd rather be diving on Bonaire in the rain any day!
