Hi Rob! We all hate you for going in two days..

It takes a picture every two minutes, so you get to stand there like a complete idiot for what will seem like the longest two minutes of your entire life. Smile pretty!

If you are a member, you can search the archives for the pictures; if not, just hope someone captures you (stay longer than two minutes to ensure this will happen) and posts it on either bonaire web cams, or community chat usually.

We will watch for you!!!

Have lots of fun. Safe diving.

Kelly

Rob. There's a couple of internet cafes on Bonaire.
Go to Member Login and once logged in go to Archives(cam) and search for the time you think you were at the cams. When you find your picture, you can click on e-postcard by the picture and send it to family. It's pretty easy because I did it and I'm very computer illiterate. Have an awesome time and take a sign so we know you.

Rob, have a great time...and check in Everything Else when you get back and are suffering from PBD badly...it looks like I may be hosting a Southern California BBQ in September...there may be Dutchies, Ohioans...and Venturians...Oh My!

I know where the street cam is, but where is the reef cam?
Is that the one you have to cross private property to get to?- how does that work-are Krispy Kremes still valid currency?

Kelly and Cynde....just remember when you go, you will have to continue the "tradition" that Marc and Kitty started at the street cam with the cam kiss! Since you are taking your Honey Buns this time a 2 minute kiss will be a requirement!

Barbara...LOL, I thought you first meant that kelly and I had to kiss in front of the cams! LOL! Now THAT would up the BT chatter! LOL!

Hi Jacqueline,

The reefcam is indeed located in sea at the private part of the beach, backside from Jake & Linda´s apartement. But you can also reach the reefcam, diving on a boat from one of the divingschools/rentals, and asking to go to "SMALL-WALL".

Gerrit.

Now you and Kitty would rival the picture of the man/woman from a couple of days! LOL! Good thing you finished reading my message! :-)

Barbara, that would be Kelly and I would rival our streetcam guest of a couple days ago! I think Marc would have something to say about Kitty and I! Good Golly! LOL!

Jacqueline, You can try another choice:

Grendel says...
"I'll let you dive Small Wall in exchange for a big pile of Doggie Cookies."

(Grendel is Jake´s watchdog.)

Success!!

jacqueline, I believe Krispy Kremes are no longer valid currency -- Linda has banned them from the house because they were making Jake's wetsuit shrink... :-)

Jacqueline, The reef cam is directly under the white buoy, not the yellow buoy. It's in about 12 feet of water.

wht buoy

Take a boat dive and ask the dive master to take you to Small Wall, just as Gerrit mentioned above.

Thanks for the advice- I can't wait to wave under water and hold up unreadable messages like everyone else.

- Oh and I am a bit soft on dogs, so the doggie will get some cookies. At least he won't have to worry about clothing shrinkage.

Jacqueline, I made my signs in Word, used like 120 to 140 size font...bold...then took them to kinkos and had them laminated...they worked out very well. when i was done, just stuffed it in my bc and went on my way!

Cynde- that looks like the best size- I will see what I can do!...Although some of those which are too small to read are quite funny- trying to figure out exactly what the divers want to say.

Oh- and big "cookies" for Grendel-So I guess he is a big dog- what breed? Oh and I will leave treats for his mom and dad to check- to make sure they are OK for him.

I tried to conserve lamination plastic and make smaller signs and then couldn't control my position in the surge for 4 minutes only 6 inches in front of the lens. I also mistakenly waited until the end of the dive when I was light and harder to keep from floating.

But I had FUN!! :-)

Hi Cynde!

Glad you got a chance to go again, however I’m completely jealous.

I’m going to have to search through the threads to see you on the street cam!

Love your new bio-photo. What a nice view they have…

“Talk” to you soon!

The camera has such a wide angle that you have to be close to be in detail. Big signs are better! Many moments I was in good position, but the 30th of a second that counts I was elsewhere!

Niki, that sign is still on the "gear" bench:-) I have a retractable clip for my guage. I love it. It keeps it clipped close, but I can pull it and check it.

Snork...Kelly and I are putting the "finishing touches" on our trip report, and it should be posted by tomorrow:-)
