Since we will be cooking our own meals while on Bonaire, and watching our budget, Can anyone tell me where the cheapest place to buy groceries is? Where do the locals go? Also, where is the cheapest place to buy packaged beer?

Thanks. Cris

Cultimara is convenient but not necesarily inexpensive... I suggest Consales, Bonaire Warehouse and Duro Home Center all on Kaya Industria. Coming from the airport, take a right hand turn at the intersection that has Lisa Gas on the right and Highway Rentals on the left. Depending on your consumption there is a beer (and soda) distributor ( and another supermarket) on the road left away from Sanddollar toward Rincon.

Hello Cris,

The problem on Bonaire is that there is not really one grocerystore that is the cheapest, every single store has its own cheapies, and it is also not said that the shop that is this week the cheapest on canned food, also will be the cheapest next week. Cultimara is one of the more expensive ones, but at least they have the largest assortment. On some items they are also the cheapest. I like shopping at "More for Less", Kaya Nikiboko Noord 56. They have excellent fruit and vegetables from Equador, and are relatively cheap, but don't have much American stuff.

Hope to have given some more explanation, and I wish you a marvellous time on Bonaire

Harrie
