Congratulations Dara and Linda! I look at my art work from you both everyday. And what a wonderful spot to have your show -- I think that Pasa Bon Pizza has one of the prettiest dining areas on the island. Just wish we did not have to work that day and the next so we could be there for the opening!

Felicidades! Your own show; I am impressed and pleased for you both.

Any chance we who cannot be on island might get to see some photos from the show?

Dara and Linda - congratulations on the show. Read about it in the Bonaire Reporter (by the way everyone, a great way to find out what is going on in Bonaire).

We have your art displayed at our place in Northern Wisconsin. Everyone that visits wants to know who the artists are.

Good Luck
Mark and Patty

Thanks Mark.

Going a little crazy here with last minute details :-) I'm "unveiling" one new painting and so is Dara. We hung the paintings on Monday so I have 10 and Dara has 14.

Lots more to do!

I wonder how it went. When I last talked to them on Monday and Tuesday they seemed to be in control. Maybe Jake and Linda are to busy counting the money.

Lol, Cecil, :-) Actually, I know that after their art shindig, they needed to immediately throw a proper 8-year-old's birthday today, Thursday, so it's likely they will only surface tomorrow. If then. Whew!

I can't make myself re-enter my life. PBD bad! I don't even want to wash the clothes and dive gear. It will rinse off the essence! Waaaa!

So sorry to hear about your memory stick. Any luck retrieving the photos? I'll post mine soon. I've got one of Bob's to show. See a new thread somewhere, maybe Diving. After I eat breakfast....

Niki, I thought the party is tomorrow (Friday)??

BTW let's set up a PBD talk group. Both Angela and myself need to join. We have to unpack, as tomorrow our masters of ceremony are arriving for the party next Saturday...

I just love this picture Niki took on our wedding...

The guy next to Angela (not being me :-) ) is Bert. He was Angela's maid of honor (or at least her best men). He's an old friend of ours, who used to live in Holland and had moved to Bonaire a few years back. I just love the expressions on the faces. Jake, me, Angela and Bert real serious and than Linda and Bas, just goofing around...

Are you already in the countdown fase??? If you don't want to go, I can go for you... (HINT, HINT, HINT)

If I went into countdown phase today it would be pathetic... but entirely understandable!

It is so blah here. 60 degrees F (15 C), and gray sky. My tan is already evaporating.

I love that picture too! Are you going to post the comical smack on the top of your head?

(Yeah, I got mixed up on the day of the party, but I figure they need today to do what needs to be done... )

Yes I'm going to post this one... :-)

It's about 21 deg C. here and I keep on sweating, I think I need to go back to Bonaire ASAP!!!

You got it!

You guys out there, if you ever want to attend a really fun wedding, get Martin and Angela to put it on. They have the lightheartedness I think weddings need! The judge might not agree... M. had to suppress from laughing at times, and said his face was aching from smiling all day.

We've strayed off topic, so when Linda, Jake, Marc and Dara are ready to post their Art Opening pictures, they'll need a fresh thread... oh well.

Back to the topic at hand (rearing my head above the piles of work in my office), the exhibit was quite a success - over 250 people attended, including Bonaire's Lt. Governor. The comment Linda heard most "I didn't know you could paint?!" (expressed in a state of shock and disbelief and "why have you been hiding this talent of yours" :-) ).

The few photos I took can be found at:
http://www.virtualbonaire.com/ArtExhibit-PasaBon-200306.html

Back to work (sleep first though)...

Jake

Oops, and yes - Yana's birthday is tomorrow (Friday - I guess that's already today) - that's kept Linda busy all day today (plus Bas didn't have school today). And I've been twiddling with computers and software all day - and the computers were winning, at least for a while...

Many congratulations to both artists on a great show and wonderful turn-out -- both of which -- thanks to Jake, we get to see!! So sorry we missed it by a couple of weeks. The paintings are lovely, and it is a joy to look at the crowd and recognise some faces who helped make our recent vacation so special. Hope those red dots are arriving! Liz and Patrick

How wonderful for both of you, Linda and Dara! Congratulations on your joint exhibits. I would have been in deep trouble if we were able to attend as I would have wanted to purchase several of the items on display! How could anyone resist such beauty on canvas? Such beautiful work all around. I had to settle for prints of a lot of the originals before we left on June 7.

We hope to someday acquire one of these original beauties, however.

Congratulations, again, ladies on such an wonderfully successful showing! Please continue to treat us to new works of art for a long time. Carole and Joe

The art at the exhibit is amazing!

Thanks Eileen, and Seb... hehehe... I wasn't whining :-P

Eileen, for me to do underwater photography would a) require me to become a diver (and I haven't even started that yet) and b) buy an underwater housing for my camera and flash, which would be more than the equipment itself cost in the first place. So don't hold your breath just yet :-)
