Hello all -

Today Telbo installed MITV, telephone line and internetconnection. Flawlessly, so it seems. However, I cannot make my wifi accespoint work with the router.

If I am correct, I need to disable the router function in the telbo router and make it work as a switch only, just transmitting the IP throught to my acces point. Is that correct?

Unfortunately, I cannot login to the Telborouter. The username and password combo in the manual (admin, admin) does not work.

Any help is much appreciated!

Hi Telcoman. It is pretty easy.

The Telbo modem has IP 192.168.1.1
The wireless router also has by default 192.168.1.1

Change the wireless router IP address into 192.168.2.1 (or 192.168.0.1 for instance) and voila...you're ready to rock and roll. No need to disable the router function.

Let us know if it worked.

good luck!

Bas.

Thanks for all the help folks. I succeeded in disabling the DHCP on the access point. Next step I will follow Bas' advice and change the fixed IP on the AP. Hope that will make it work.

Telcoman, there is no need to disable DHCP. Just change the IP address in the router. After that the DHCP will give you a different IP address (in the 192.168.2.xxx range for instance if you have chosen 192.168.2.1 as your router IP). DHCP enabled is much more convenient than having to set fixed IP addresses on all the devices that connect to the wireless router.

OK Thanks! Just to be sure: I have disabled DHCP in the AP. But if you say so, tonight I will change it back again and give the AP a fixed IP. Sounds like a perfect solution...

If you are using an airport you will have to take it out of bridge mode.

Got it! Thanks to Bas' explanation it proved to be extremely simple. Just changing the fixed IP on the access point made everything work. Thanks all!
