Interesting read in this issue of the reporter which outlined a meeting last week with the new state secretary who is the Dutch official most responsible for the transition. It appears she has effective squashed the notion that the Euro will be Bonaire's currency in the future. According to her, it will be the US dollar or the Antillian Guilder.
I think this is a wise choice.

Since the Antillean Guilder is pegged to the dollar, it is a fine choice as far as most of the business people on Bonaire are concerned.

It will certainly preserve the European tourist trade.

And the American tourist trade as well.
