I have been looking all over for a phone number for Curoil to get a gas cylinder replaced. Not in the phone book, not online. Does anybody have a number or is visiting their office the only option?

Bas
Try this URL there is a phone number. I, of course don't know if it's the one you need.

717-7022--you mean you need to buy a new tank (cylinder) of gas (the big 100lb one), right? You do need to go there and pre-pay (call for their hours, I think it's morning only) if you want it delivered to your house (that can take up to 2 weeks, and someone has to be there to receive it). Your other choice is calling ahead and finding out when you can show up with your empty tank & buy a full one. For convenience, it's best to keep 2 at your house: one in use, and one full/on stand-by, so you don't run out if the delivery time is far, or, they run out of tanks...

I use the little ones, and it was a real pain over Queen's Day. They ran out of gas bottles on the entire island, and I went four days without being able to cook. I use gas for everything (even coffee), because I'm used to it being the electricity that's unreliable.

Yep....we have 2 at the house so the 2 weeks shouldn't be a problem. Thanks for the number...that was the one we needed.

It never fails to amaze me that we who live here on island have to rely on the good graces of folks like my friend Mickey from a thousand miles away to tell us where to go! Mickey you are a wealth of information. See you next trip!

Which reminds me: the KFCs in Nebraska used to offer fried gizzards and hearts as a side dish ... any chance you can start offering that? I can't find chicken hearts for sale anywhere. Gizzards and livers, yes, but not hearts.

Can't say I've considered those menu items (until now)...thanks for the idea--you'll be the first to know if I add them (after we move to new/larger location-our kitchen's just too small now to offer more items).

Well, this might be the farthest off-thread I've seen (and have been part of causing)! Are we testing Jerry?
:-p

No, it was some beef recipe from the south of Holland, whose name I cannot pronounce or spell. The kind of food you eat when you've just finished plowing the back 40 acres. AND, it had applesauce with it.
:-)
