I think things are returning to normal. We had big waves and surge from a Caribbean wide "storm" that created havoc all over the Caribbean including Aruba. Read www.stormcarib.com for updates and photos.

I was at dinner with friends last night. They all own houses on the north shore where we experienced more wave activity. Their impressions were the March 2008 storm surge/waves were stronger than Hurricane Felix last Fall.

Things are quieting down but shore diving was very challenging and few trucks were out on the south Wed. until today.

Elvis Martinus is running a windsurf wave event at Lac Cai. Off to watch the action.

The waves the storm generated were felt Caribbean-wide. The center of the storm was at 40 degerrs latitude, waaay far north in the Atlantic. Hurricane force winds, not seen since The Perfect Storm, a real event, in 1991.

All the Virgin Islands, 400-450 miles north of Bonaire had very high surf, beach erosion, and the tourists were very much admonished to not go into the water because of dangerous rip tides.

Glad that it's done and over with!
