My cat Wanda is missing in Tera Cora. She broke out of a screened window at the vet's office today (near La Portuguesa). She has a wound under her ear. She just had surgery. She is a very timid/shy cat. Please call 786 3134 or 786 4538 if you see Wanda. If you are in the area please keep a watchful eye. Thank you.

She is white and 3 years old. Her recent surgery will be the best ID at this time.

Oh, Ann, this is heart wrenching. We hope someone finds her very quickly and that she is fine. Positive thoughts and positive sightings, only. Carole

Ann, any news yet? I am crossing my fingers and toes for your Wanda.

Someone emailed me a dead white cat was found on Kaya Korona way down by the Catholic Church. It has been since removed by who I do not know. They did not examine to see if she had a wound. I need the phone to the Servicio Beastia Mortu but cannot find it. Not sure who else may have taken the body.

I do not think it was Wanda. She would not have been on the street or in an area so densely populated..I pray she is heading south home.

Oh Ann,
I do hope Wanda is ok and on her way home. I kidded on a thread yesterday where somebody said the Divi beach is a sandbox. I said maybe Ann's cat is there. But I am sorry I joked because I honestly feel bad for you and for Wanda. She must miss you. Maybe she is hanging out near the vet's office waiting for you to come back to her with hugs and treats. Good luck!
Denise

Ann, doesn't the police department have the number..or the animal shelter?

It would be nice if Wanda was sunning at Divi Denise. :-)

The police and shelter have phones but the police really do not handle animal matters. The shelter knows about Wanda as do most on island now. Sean (Paton) will add her to his show today. She gets top billing next to Sr. El Hage. :-)

Come home Wanda...

Hey, Annie,

Go and walk the ground! Wanda is counting on you - get out there and help her!

We all are concerned for her but you are the point person, not us (we off Bonaire on BT can't tell you where the car and bicycle are!). Walk the ground and talk to the people (they know where the car and bicycle are!). Talk to Wanda so she knows you are there and it is safe to come out.

Go out and help her - we are all with you but it is your game on the ground there!

Good hunting!!!

Glen, I just have to say, you should be more aware of ALL the facts before you say such things. Annie is one of the most wonderful loving people you will ever meet! I know she is absolutely torn up that Wanda is missing, and she is doing EVERYTHING she can, she just needs help. There are people ON ISLAND who read these threads and may be able to help.

Annie helped me when I was on-island last year pet sitting, and the 3 dogs escaped! She was invaluable in helping us find them!

Annie, my friend.....I wish I was on-island to join the hunt! My prayers are with you and Wanda!!!

LaDonna

Please note, this thread is under "local items". I did not read Ann's question about where this field might be as for us off island people to be expected to answer. I see the question is meant for the locals. And the name of the thread "mising cat alert" is much like when we go around town here in the States posting pictures and info for missing pets on local telephone poles (not supposed to but many do) and trees and store windows. I do believe it is one of Ann's many attempts to cover all bases in her search for Wanda. The rest of us are just piping in with support. Wanda please come home soon :-)

Hey, lighten up folks. You are reading too much weight into my comments; I was not 'chewing her out'. I know Ann is caring, et al, but I can only go by the information I have.

Ann, do you have a photo you might ask George to run on the Bonaire Reporter or any other circulations down there?

Is her pic posted at Cultimara, Warehouse, Super Store, etc. And, of course, at Michael's place? cb

Hello

I sent a notice to all the newspapers and so far I only know of one Papiamento paper that run it. A notice is on all the stores and last night I thumbtacked notices all over Tera Cora.

It is searching for a needle in a haystack. The barrios are FULL of dogs loose or chained or in fences and when I call her, they all go berserk so I cannot hear her if she calls back to me. I got nipped at this AM at 5 whilst hunting for her..it's frustrating and slightly dangerous.

I am praying she comes home..I feel the search is futile but I will continue day and night.

Thanks all. I will post if I find her, I promise.

Good thoughts for Wanda. I know you will find her. Don't give up! Does she have a favorite treat? I know when I shake the catnip container my cats could be in a dead sleep in the far corners of the basement and they hear it and come running. Maybe you could take a treat container out when you look and instead of calling to her (and making the dogs bark) you could shake the treats. Just a thought.... As always, we are hoping for the best for the little sweetpea.

Thanks Debbie and all...George (Bonaire Reporter) told me it's in today's edition. Thanks George.

A small group is joining me for my dawn hunt. It seems the best time to go but darn, the dogs barking will scare her away. She was raised with my two dogs and they love her but she is scared to DEATH of them.

Sigh...

:-(

no news...I am searching day and night...I have passed out flyers to a lot of school kids figuring they are more in tune to noticing a white cat. A few kids have sighted a white cat but I also saw two in Tera Cora. Praying and hoping...
