I'm having some real trouble w/ Flamingo TV's cable modem. Seems that about 2 weeks ago the speed just dropped out to nearly nothing, especially in the evenings. Anyone else notice the same thing? I upgraded to business class today, and it's still just as bad. What I really need it for is to use Skype to call the USA. Anyone know a cheaper way to do it? Are there any calling cards thru your cell that work?

Pass by and I can show you a quite reasonable way go call the US. You should go and ask Flamingo for a refund for the upgrade. It doen't not work reliably...

Switch to Telbo. I did and it works tons better. In reality what could happen is that over time Telbo (with growing customer base) will slow down...Flamingo upgrades and hop....I switch back. At the moment Telbo has an offer where the modem and installation is free. You pay 99 Naf per month for 512Kb ADSL.

I use skype all the time and can now even use the video feature quite nicely. Also to give you an idea...on youtube you can watch clips streaming (the video streams in faster than you are watching....on Flamingo I needed to pause it for 5 minutes before I could watch a 2 minute clip)

I wish I could switch to Telbo, but they wanted a 1 year contract, and I'm only here for 2 more months ...
