does anyone know how to contact Nynex Information Resources in the US. It was bought out a few years ago and I need to find some contact info for a friend.

NYNEX was New York/New England telephone - one of the 7 "Baby Bells" that was created when AT&T broke up as of 1/1/84.

In 1996 Bell Atlantic acquired NYNEX. In 2000 GTE acquired Bell Atlantic and changed the name to Verizon. Last year, the corporate headquarters was moved to Basking Ridge, NJ from NYC.
