I am here now on the island. Looking for beef stock or beef broth. I am accustomed to using packaged products such as: http://www.swansonbroth.com/ourproducts.aspx

Do you know where I might find a product such as this? I will be cooking some beef stew and beef stroganoff for our group and beef stock/broth is part of how I make it.

How would you say beef stock or beef broth in Dutch?

Thanks

Sorry Timmy, but not really correct - the word stock has several meanings and the word "vorraad" means "inventory" --- a beef stock in the sence of bouillon is "rundvlees aftreksel" but of the word stock is also used.
Russ , you will find it in Warehouse - past the meat section, in the first freezer (which is very cold but not freezing) you will find it , if I remember well on the top shelf in a carton like the heavy cream .... or you find it in a glass in the section were you find the bouillon cubes.

Just buy some wesu sopi...Soup Bones and put it on to boil for an hour or so..put in an onion, salt, a bit of garlic and voila..stock. an oxtail really adds flavor..all these can be found at Cultimara or the carneceria latino..

you can also find cans of Campbell's beef broth or chicken broth at Tropical Flamingo, also the boullion (sp?) cubes of both chicken and beef at any of the supermarkets.

Brigitte - thanks for the correction ... I just used WorldLingo free online translator and thats what it gave me.

rundvlees aftreksel translates from Dutch to English as Beef extract.
