Bon Tarde all,

For a new project, I need to digitize some old hi-8 video and the best way seems to be to use a hi-8 camcorder or deck with an S-Video output into my miniDV camcorder, which will digitize and output onto the firewire into my computer.

Anyone know where I could rent or buy such?

Hi, Roger! I have a Sony TR70 Hi8 video cam in my closet but we aren't going to be there until third week in May. I hate to admit the poor thing has been sitting in there since I went "digital" with my still shots. Time to get a digital camcorder, I guess.

Maybe someone on island has an old dinosaur sitting around like I do and can come to your rescue quickly.

You should have mentioned this when you were at my house earlier tonight. I have a Hi8 deck I can loan you (and a MiniDV deck for that matter as well).

I should have mentioned it Jake, but I guess I was so excited about the result of your generosity in the digital camera/housing loan, that the thought just did not enter my head!

Could you bring it (the Hi8 deck) Friday morning when we meet for the dive?
