I wonder someone would kindly inform me how many digits the ATM machines accept for PIN numbers in Bonaire.

It seems to me that when we were there five years ago the ATM machines only accepted four digit pin numbers, but I certainly may be wrong about that. In any case it would be nice to know about it before we do so that we could change our pin number if necessary.

Thank you!

I know my pin number (to local account) is a 4 digit number. Be sure to know your number by number, not word--not all ATM machines list the alphabet with the numbers. I've had quite a few ATM users ask to see our phone (in KFC) because the ATM machine (outside of KFC) didn't have letters, and they knew their code only by a name. That ATM machine now has numbers+letters, but I'm not sure if all do.

I do not know for sure, we use a card with 4 digits.

I read a couple of years ago that it is a good idea to limit yourself to 4 digits. And, if it is a word, you need to know the key pad digits for this word. My husband says it is getting better (more machines accept longer pins), but to be sure . . .

I know the one at Cultimara does. My girlfriend used it last week and she has a 6 digit pin.
