Does anyone know who bought The Dive Inn?

I sent Babs a email about this and she told me that the apartments and the Diveshop may be sold separately. There is an interested party for the studio's at this time, but no funds have transfered to date.

Whoever buys the Dive Inn, Babs has it written that all reservations will be honored to May. I hate to see the place go, as we have so many good memories there.

I have a feeling it will be demolished for a 4 story high rise condo. That seems to be the way the island is going.

I'm with you Jim, My family has stayed at the Dive Inn 9 times and we love it! Location is everything. Agreeded, it's not a five star hotel, but then again we are not five star people. I will hate to see them go... Ron

It is sad indeed Ron. I don't want to get into all the particulars of the sale on the net, but it has been very stressful for Babs this last month.

While we are not 5 star people either, the Dive Inn had its great points and low points. Great points were certainly the location to the Divi for boat diving, or restaurants, etc. The bad points were the noise, along with Cha Cha right across the street. Sometimes that area drew some interesting characters. I'm being nice. What I liked, having many Bonairean friends, was the accessibility of them stopping by for a beer and some snacks during Happy Hour. Babs always told me I should move down and become the Mayor. LOL

Jim, Babbett(Babs daughter) will be ready for collage soon and she told us that she wants to move back to Holland as there are no schools for her to attend on Bonaire. She is not going to sell her house and plans on leasing it when she is gone. She said that she will spend her leasure time on the Island as well. I hope the best for her and her family. Just got a email from Babs, The studio apartments are sold! She is going to honor our resevation for May12th-26th but we will be her last customers. She also sold her diveboat so shore diving only. The Dive shop is still forsale.
Hate to see this operation close but that's life... Ron
