The Johan Cruyff Foundation donated at least an important part of the installation of the new football-stadium on Bonaire. It has artificial grass, and our future champions will get their foorball-education there.

Cruyff Foundation

Johan Cruyff was the best football-player ever, (Dutch of course), and he is world-famous. (Never heard of him? A shame!) He has also been a good trainer too, and a coach for several dutch and Spanish football-teams, over the years. He is well-known about his "spicy" remarks to trainers and the press, he is remarkably clever. Perhaps he is also a querulant, but at least he is well-known.

Yesterday he was seen at "It rains Fishes", one of the very best restaurants on Bonaire, a recognition of their quality.

Koningin Beatrix was invited to open the football-court.

Cruyff shoots first

Although Johan Cruyff really tried to shoot a soft shot onto the first goal, directly onto the keeper, the keeper there managed to let the ball pass him.... Must have been nerves.

More to come

That was it, folks, she is leaving for the Netherlands tonight, and it must have been two heavy days for her. She is not too young anymore...

Hope you enjoyed

I forgot to apologise for the relatively bad quality of the pictures. It was very busy, and we were trapped in a traffic jam, so couldn't get any good positions. I had to take the pictures from a long distance, and had to enlarge them quite a lot.

Sorry for that

Thanks Harrie - I most certainly did enjoy the photos. Now who has a count as to how many different outfits she wore while she was on Bonaire?

Different outfits?

There must be people that count it. I don't. Today (her 2nd day) she had at least two different ones. Must have been yesterday too. perhaps even three, because after the trip to Klein Bonaire (where she was partially into the water, and gave some turtles (with an electronic tracking device) the names of her grandchildren), she must have changed before her reception at the house of the gezaghebber.
So I assume the total is 5 times.

At least the hat this afternoon was of a decent size. This morning it was a very small one.....

Oops. That sentence made no sense at all! I meant to say:"I should look so good at her age."

BTW:
She doesn't leave this evening, she leaves tomorrow-morning (10-11-2006) at about 9am. So a last chance to see her on the airport, with yet another hat....

Hi Rosanne,
as you can read somewhere else, I was / am a bit fed-up with BT (See the thread: "QUEEN COMING TO BONAIRE" (Local Items). But I would like to share the coming of our Koningin to Bonaire with all of you.

Ah, too bad Harrie, I quite enjoy your banter! I think you wear your heart on your sleeve and I like that. I think that many times you put a spin on things that truly provoke thought and emotion from people, and in my book that is not a bad thing. Thanks for the wonderful photo's and your special way of explaining things! Loved the hat references!

Thanks for the compliments, Rosanne. Don't do that too much, because then I will have to kick you.....
I wished there were more people thinking like that, so we could make the moderators think about their way of thinking.

I'm cracking up Harrie! I hope to see you around the board more. I can't say I always agree with you but that is what makes this world interesting. When I come to Bonaire, I will keep my eye out for you, I don't want to get kicked! (smile)
