It is just me or is it coincidence that Riley is born on Antillen Day? I'm tellin ya.... we gotta get that boy to Bonaire soon !

I didn't know what Sweetest Day was - So I checked it out. For anyone else who hasn't heard of it:

This holiday is much more important in some regions than in others (Detroit, Cleveland and Buffalo being the biggest Sweetest Day cities). It is a holiday that is gaining in popularity every year throughout the country.

Sweetest Day
When: Third Saturday in October

Now here is a day dedicated just for your sweetie. It exists as an opportunity for you to recognize that sweet and special someone. It doesn’t matter who that person is, or what their relation to you. They just have to be "sweet" in order to get a little recognition.

Herbert Birch Kingston, a Cleveland, Ohio philanthropist and candy company employee started Sweetest Day. He wanted to bring happiness to orphans, shut-ins and under-privileged. His intent was to show these people that they were not forgotten. In 1922, he started this holiday by giving candy and small gifts. He often used movie stars to distribute the gifts.

The popularity of this holiday quickly spread. Today, is celebrated with loved ones and friends. However, we encourage you to follow the intent of the original holiday, and find ways to give candy and small gifts to those in need.

Gail, thank you for the history on Sweetest Day! That makes it even more special that our Riley was born on this day. xo

GREAT - so sweetest day this year and my brother and hubby went fishing, I and 3 friends from Atlanta went to one of our cool small towns and went shopping and boy had a swim meet. But at the end of the day we all sat around having wine, cheese, crackers and shrimp. Who says I can't cook. LOL!

We got caught out with this, we had to have a take away from Bobbiejeans and go to Passa Bon for Pizza, thank goodness Bob managed to get his beer.
