Well, I just found BT on the net. I'm obviously new to BT, but I'm old to Bonaire. I was born in Curacao and lived on Bonaire till bout five four or five years ago. Anybody here actually live there still? I was wondering how much it's changed in the past few years since I move to the states.

Hi Caleb,

I have lived on Bonaire for 3 years, and it has changed a lot since I arrived, lots of construction, "improvements", etc., but I have no doubt that it is still the place you miss!

Hi Caleb (from As the World Turns? ... :-) ... ahahahaha), I was born in Curaçao too, lived there till I was early in my twenties, then went to Holland to study, stayed there for almost 10 yrs (what was I thinking) and live now for a bit over 8 yrs on Bonaire. Dushi, dushi Boneiru. Can't imagine going back to Curaçao, they'll have to deport me, literally ...
Like Alex said, the only changes are more constructions, and a few highrise (sp) buildings, other than that, a wonderful wonderful place. How did I end up here and not back in Cur.? My parents are from here, both of them, and both from the Capital of Rincon.
Do you speak Papiamentu Caleb?
Saludo,
J

Hi Caleb.

We did it the other way around...we moved TO Bonaire. I am pretty sure that is the better direction (at least I hope so....otherwise what are we doing here ;-)

Like the others have already said...some changes but in my opinion nothing major at least over the past 4 years since I've know Bonaire. Plenty of construction going on but not large scale.

For some reason I do have the feeling that Bonaire might be on the verge of some more serious growth...one side of me hopes I'm wrong about that...on the other hand it would boost the economy and thus be good for many people here. As long as it is slow and controlled growth (and with nice people!) it's fine with me.

Make sure you come back here to visit once in a while.

Cheers,

Bas.
