Hurricane Lenny didn't pass over the ABCs, but it set off an unusual wave pattern that travelled across the water, and struck the lee side of the island with destructive force.

Actually, we didn't get hit by Lenny itself. What we got hit with was the extreme wind reversal and underwater wave movement that Lenny passing west to east north of us caused. Normal movement for a hurricane in the mid-Caribbean is east to west and south to north. Lenny went east and south for a couple days. The terrific energy translated into a total reverse of normal wind and current patterns. Yet all other weather was normal - bright sunshine, little puffy clouds, no rain at all. People did not know anything was happening, unless you lived by the western coast or traveled by it.
