I am a graduate student at the University of Alabama and am working on a Papiamentu project with one of my professors. We would be grateful for any information (names of people, universities, high schools, etc) who can help us study Papiamentu and possibly even help us come there to do field research. Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Exactly what is it you need to know? I have one person in mind that owns a B&B and was born in the Antiles of American parents. E mail me more specifics and perhaps you could do an "immersion" course with her.

I believe there is a papiamentu site, but have to check that for sure. What i do know is that there has been lots of studies done, i remember helping a professor in England as well, she had this marvelous book of Papiamentu. If you have some patience, i'll look up the title of this book for you, and I'll try to get this professor's address for you as well.
