I would like directions to the Donkey Sanctuary. We are renting a home from Bonaire partners "Luz Di Laman" not positive of location I think it is near Andrea I & II, but I could be mistaken of the location.

We are also considering renting a scooter a day to put around the island on, any recommendations where to rent one from? We do have a rental vehicle but will be sharing it with the rest of our dive party. We were thinking of driving the scooter up to Washington Park. Would this be a good idea or not? We have never been to the park so didnt know the terrain.

There are a few places on the island to rent scooters. Rentofun, Bonaire Motorcycles & De Freewheeler, all on Kaya Grande.

As far as I know, you are not permitted to ride a scooter or motorcycle in the National Park, you would need a pick-up or similar. If you are feeling fit, you can ride a bicycle in the park with permission.

Hi, Katie. The donkey sanctuary is EASY to find... turn left out of the airport and look for the sign. It is just south of the airport. I'm sure that's what Jerry's link says but I'm too lazy to click on it. lol.

Looks easy enough to me! We will have to spend some surface time visiting the donkeys. Thanks for all the reply's.

katie, the donkey sanctuary is a few km's down the dirt road just south of the airport. if you pass any houses, you've gone too far. the road is just opposite the south end of donkey beach. the airport runway actually parallels the road. depending on the time of year it can be a rough ride but it's worth it.
